Poldark series 3 to feature death and an affair

‘Poldark’s next series will feature death and an affair.
Fans were left on the edge of their seats as the second series wrapped on Sunday evening (06.11.16) with Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) reuniting with his wife Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) after a one-night stand with the love of his life Elizabeth Warleggan (Heida Reed). But there is drama ahead as Elizabeth is expecting a child and doubts have been raised over who is the father – Poldark or Elizabeth’s husband George Warleggan (Jack Farthing).
However, there is more tragedy in store as Elizabeth – who gives birth to a little boy named Valentine – tragically dies of gangrene after falling ill and her passing has a huge effect on Poldark.
Meanwhile, his wife Demelza is up to no good and she has an affair with Hugh Armitage (Josh Whitehouse), the Daily Star newspaper reports.
Filming for series three began in September and writer and executive producer Debbie Horsfield has teased a "rollercoaster ride where the stakes have never been higher".
She said at the time: "We’re thrilled to be kicking off series three with a fantastic array of new characters and a story which scales new heights of conflict, feuding, passion and drama.
"Ross is older but not necessary wiser, and his recklessness sometimes costs him, and his loved ones, dear. We’re in for a rollercoaster ride where the stakes have never been higher."
Whilst Mammoth Screen executive producer Karen Thrussell added: "It’s with real excitement that we introduce three very talented young actors to the world of Poldark – Harry Richardson and Tom York playing Demelza’s brothers Drake and Sam, and Ellise Chappell as Morwenna, Elizabeth’s cousin. All are major players in the next volume of Winston Graham and Debbie Horsfield’s saga!"
