Pitbull wins first ever Dick Clark Achievement Award at Latin AMAs

Pitbull won the first ever Dick Clark Achievement Award at the Latin American Music Awards on Thursday (26.10.17).
The ‘Timber’ rapper took home the big prize at the awards ceremony, which was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where he used his acceptance speech to push a political message.
Collecting his award, he said: "Dont ever forget that immigrants built the United States of America. They should be worrying about building more schools instead of a wall, if you know what I mean."
Elsewhere, CNCO, Prince Royce and Enrique Iglesias were the big winners, with the ‘Hey DJ’ hitmakers and the ‘Back It Up’ singer taking home an impressive four awards each whilst the 42-year-old singer songwriter won three gongs.
CNCO secured the Favourite Duo of Group – Pop/Rock award whilst their album ‘Primera Cita’ won them Album of the Year – Pop/Rock and Favourite Album – Pop/Rock. Their fourth award was won in the Favourite Song – Pop/Rock category for ‘Reggaeton Lento (Bailemos)’.
Meanwhile, Prince Royce triumphed in the Tropical categories for Favourite Artist and Favourite Album. And ‘Déjà Vu’, Prince Royce’s collaboration with Shakira, earned them the coveted Song of The Year and Favourite Song – Tropical.
Enrique’s three wins came from the Artist of the Year category, Favourite Male Artist – Pop/Rock and his track ‘Súbeme La Radio’ – which features Descemer Bueno and Zion y Lennox – won Favourite Collaboration. Selena Gomez took home the Favourite Crossover Artist prize.
Camila Cabello wowed with a Spanish performance of her hit track ‘Havana’ whilst the show also saw performances from Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzman, Becky G and Bad Bunny and ​Wisin and Ozuna.

Favourite Album (Tropical) – Prince Royce, ‘Five’
Favourite Song (Tropical) – Prince Royce & Shakira, ‘Deja Vu’
Favourite Collaboration – Enrique Iglesias featuring Descemer Bueno, Zion & Lennox, ‘Súbeme La Radio’
Favourite Crossover Artist – Selena Gomez
Dick Clark Achievement Award – Pitbull
