Pink took her stage name from her own vagina.
The ‘What About Us’ singer – whose real name is Alecia Moore -famously took her nickname from Steve Buscemi’s character Mr. Pink in ‘Reservoir Dogs’ but has admitted the origin of why that became her moniker is very raunchy.
Asked if people complained about the reference to Quentin Tarantino’s violent movie, she said: "I’ve been receiving complaints for a very long time. I’m OK with it and for the other reason my name is Pink. That’s inappropriate too.
"My best friend had never seen a white girl’s vagina before so he asked me if I could see it, so I showed it to him and he said ‘It’s pink!’ Then my friends started calling me Mr. Pink."
The 38-year-old star – who has children Willow, six, and nine-month-old son Jameson with her husband Carey Hart – ran into her big screen namesake shortly before the release of her first album, ‘Can’t Take Me Home’, in 2000 and left him "scared s**tless".
She recalled: "I actually ran into Steve Buscemi on the street in New York before my first album came out. I had these big f***ing Elton John sunglasses on, pink hair and carried a Pink Panther toy.
"I went, ‘Steve! Mr. Pink! I’m Pink! Because of you! I’m going to have an album and you’re going to know who I am.’ And he was like, ‘What the f**k lady?’ and just ran away from me.
"I’ve never met him since. He was scared s**tless of me. Sorry Steve!"
Pink also confessed to once getting caught having sex in a car by her then-boyfriend’s mother.
Asked the worst thing she’s done in front of her boyfriends’ parents, she told Q magazine: "Maybe getting caught having sex in the car. I’d met his mum before but she didn’t know her son was having sex at this point."
