Piers Morgan bets Liz Jones £1k he will outlive her

Piers Morgan has bet Liz Jones £1,000 that he will live longer than her.
The 53-year-old television presenter has claimed the former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star has contradicted her vegan beliefs by consuming bread and eggs, and he is so sure he will outlive the 60-year-old journalist he has placed a four-figure sum on the pledge.
Piers engaged in a debate with Liz and Reverend Richard Coles about whether those who don’t eat animal products should be viewed in the same was as those who follow religion.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ – which Piers co-hosts alongside Susanna Reid – Liz argued: "It’s animals, I love animals. I believe a religion isn’t so much about a god, it’s about respecting others."
However, Piers reputed her statement and accused her of failing her beliefs because she eats bread, which kills insects in its production.
He said: "Shouldn’t it also extend to everything that involves killing animals, including bread?"
As the conversation moved on, the journalist admitted that she eats eggs as she "knows their parents", because she raises them herself.
Piers then joked that he enjoyed steak because he "knows a cow in London Fields".
In a final plea, the columnist insisted that the only way the human race will be able to continue in the long-term is to stop eating meat.
She said: "What I’m saying is if you’re so concerned about the human race the only way we’re going to feed ourselves is by not eating meat.
"It’s been scientifically proven we cannot consume meat in the way we do because children are starving."
At the end of the interview, Piers claimed he would outlive her and before standing up and making a £1,000 bet to seal the deal.
