Phillip Schofield proposed to his wife naked.
The ‘This Morning’ host has admitted he popped the question to Stephanie Lowe, whom he’s been married to for more than 20 years, while in the nude after he tucked her engagement ring in a do-it-yourself advent calendar over Christmas.
Speaking to his co-star Holly Willoughby on the show today (16.03.16), he explained: "I proposed to Steph with an advent calendar. You could put your own things in the boxes so I filled it with bath salts, cheap things like that. Then on the given day I put the engagement ring in. She opened it up, I hopped out of bed starkers and went down on one knee! And then she said ‘I prefer the bath salts’, just kidding!
The couple got married in 1993 and have two daughters, Molly, 22, and Ruby, 19, together.
But, despite their long marriage, it seems the couple are still learning new things about one another as Phillip, 53, admitted last year they got into a six-month-long fight after playing the board game version of his show ‘Mr and Mrs’.
He said at the time: "Steph’s relatives play games, a tradition my family has now embraced, too, although one year, after playing the ‘Mr and Mrs’ board game, the arguments continued until June. We’re not getting that out again."
