Phillip Schofield had to have three showers after he was splattered with ketchup while filming ‘You’re Back in the Room’.
The 53-year-old presenter brought filming of the new series to a halt in January after hypnotised guests ran riot in the studio and turned his hair pink with the highly-pigmented condiments.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ today (17.03.16), he said: "There was another game when it was fast food. There was ketchup and mustard and I managed to do the whole game without getting covered in it and then hypnotist Keith Barry said [to the contestants], ‘When you come back, you’ll wonder why you’re covered in this stuff and it’s all Phillip’s fault.’ And one woman pointed at me and went, ‘YOU!’ and they advanced on me and covered me.
"My £2,000 suit was absolutely wrecked and I had to have three showers before we could even continue recording because what I didn’t realise is this colour hair [grey] and you squirt tomato ketchup on that and it grabs so it went pink."
Contestants on the hilarious show were sent into a trance-state by Keith and made to believe they were in an American diner and that the mustard and ketchup bottles were shampoo.
The guests obediently rubbed the sticky condiments into their hair before launching an attack on Phillip after they were told by Keith that he was responsible for their messy state.
