Phillip Schofield couldn’t stomach hangover cure on This Morning

Phillip Schofield couldn’t stomach ‘This Morning’ chef Phil Vickery’s hangover cure after his boozy night at the National Television Awards.
The 55-year-old presenter and his co-host Holly Willoughby were both left feeling worse for wear after their triumphant evening at The O2 Arena on Tuesday (23.01.18), when they won the Best Daytime Show award – but Phillip’s overly-enthusiastic celebrations meant he was unable to eat the chef’s tasty hangover cure.
Looking at Phil’s twist on a toasted cheese sandwich – which included buttered ciabatta bread, cheese, English mustard and a white bechamel sauce – the ‘This Morning’ host said: "Good gracious, man! What are you doing?"
Then, the chef introduced his croque madame, which he explained is a "croque moussier with an egg on top".
But as Phil discussed the ingredients with Holly – who was nibbling on the cheese – the veteran TV star was busily shaking his head in the background.
And as the chef started to cut into his tasty-looking sandwich, he said: "Now Phil, I know you’re not feeling too good…"
But rather than sinking his teeth into the sandwich, Phillip instead started to nibble on the little bits of cheese that were lying on the work surface.
At that point, Phil asked: "What are you doing, Phil? Eating the little bits?"
Looking at her co-host, Holly responded: "I don’t know what he’s doing."
Then, a sheepish Phillip confessed: "I’ll just eat the cheesy bits."
And later, when he was offered a bite of Phil’s macaroni toastie, the veteran TV star admitted: "I can’t do it, I’m afraid."
The segment finished with Phil saying, tongue-in-cheek: "What a waste of time."
By contrast, Holly admitted to having a pizza before going to bed at around 4am, and she was happy to indulge herself on Phil’s hangover cures, as well as a bacon sandwich earlier in the show.
