Peter Andre insists Katie Price’s son Harvey is "very important" to him.
The ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker’s former wife previously insisted the singer "doesn’t see" her oldest child – who she had with former boyfriend Dwight Yorke – anymore, but Peter claims that isn’t the case as he been seeing the 14 year old "a bit more" and always enjoys spending time with the teenager.
Asked if he saw Harvey – who suffers from a number of disabilities and health conditions – swear during an appearance on TV show ‘Loose Women’, Peter said: "I never saw it, but I was told. He’s such a good-hearted boy, I see him a bit more now, which is amazing. He’s just the best, I love him.
"There’s always room for Harvey at our house. I always saw him as my own. There’s a special place in my heart for him – he’s very important to me and he’s always welcome. It’s just lovely to see him."
It was recently revealed Katie’s current husband Kieran Hayler – the father of her youngest children, Jett, two, and Bunny, 22 months – wants to adopt Harvey but Peter insists he has no idea if it’s true.
However, the 43-year-old singer – who has kids Junior, 11, and Princess, nine, with Katie, as well as two-year-old daughter Amelia with pregnant wife Emily – appears to back the plans so long as they make Harvey happy.
He told Now magazine: "I’m not sure to be honest, but Harvey’s such a great kid and if he’s happy, so am I. I love him to bits and I want him to be happy."
After Kieran voiced his desire to adopt Harvey, fans were critical and described it as a "kick in the teeth" to Peter, prompting Katie to insist her former spouse has no interest in her oldest child any more.
She tweeted: "Pete doesn’t want to adopt harvey and doesn’t see him anymore and doesn’t ask to see him anymore so don’t judge on something you don’t know about and kieran is ana Omg with the children and even pete will say that (sic)"
