Persephone Swales-Dawson’s shock Hollyoaks return

Persephone Swales-Dawson is to make a shock return to ‘Hollyoaks’ for the show’s 25th anniversary.

The 23-year-old actress will reprise her role as Nico Blake – who was killed by her own mother Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) in self-defence in June 2018 – later this year as a figment of Liberty Savage’s (Jessamy Stoddart) imagination, as she continues to have doubts about giving away her baby.

In a new trailer released ahead of the Channel 4 soap’s 25th birthday this October, Liberty will begin to hallucinate and see Nico as a nurse, but Sienna is concerned her sister may have depression.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Jorgie Porter is back in the village, reprising her role as Theresa McQueen for a dramatic plot which will see the McQueens being blackmailed.

Theresa, Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), Goldie (Chelsee Healey) John Paul (James Sutton), Sylver (David Tag), Nana (Diane Langton) and Cher (Bethannie Hare), will be blackmailed for their deadliest sins by a creepy doll, leaving them in serious danger.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Kieron Richardson is back as his character Ste Hay returns to the village after he was previously radicalised into a far-right extremist group.

And Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams) is to discover his cousin Lisa Loveday’s (Rachel Adedeji) body hidden in the boot of his brother Toby Faroe’s (Bobby Gordon) car.

What’s more, original character Kurt Benson – who appeared in the first-ever episode – is also returning to the show, despite being dead.

Jeremy Edwards is to reprise his role, as Kurt – who was believed to have died in a jet ski accident in 1999 – rides back into the village on his trademark motorbike to catch up with old friend Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), who appears to have seen a ghost.
