Perry Benson has left Benidorm

‘Benidorm’ star Perry Benson has left the show for good.
The 56-year-old star joined the comedy series as pot bellied Clive Dyke alongside Hannah Waddington as his glamorous beautician wife Tonya, but the couple from Watford haven’t been seen on the show since 2015. and he has confirmed he’s had to "move on" despite having so much "fun" with the character.
The actor – who featured in 14 episodes of the ITV sitcom – said: "I’m not in ‘Benidorm’ again, they’re filming a series as we speak. It was fun doing it but you move on."
Perry – who rose to fame in ‘You Rang, M’Lord?,’ ‘Oh, Doctor Beeching!’ and starred in ‘This Is England’ – has filled his schedule with other projects and is heading to the Edinburgh Fringe next month to star in a new Irvine Welsh play called ‘Performers’ at the Assembly Ballroom.
He’s also working on the reboot of Ray Burdis’ BBC Two mockumentary ‘Operation Good Guys’ in which he played Bones from 1997-2001 and also revealed that the series – which featured celebrity cameos from the likes of Jude Law and Jonny Lee Miller – will eventually be made into a movie.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "Recently we’ve done lots of new segments we are going to put on YouTube and now we have got funding for a feature film."
Meanwhile, ‘Benidorm’ is racking up a number of celebrity cameos including Bobby Ball – who is one half of the comedy duo Cannon and Ball.
The 73-year-old star will be joined by Tommy Cannon, Hale and Pace and the Chuckle Brothers in the upcoming 10th series of the popular show and his character is said to be linked to the Dawson family.
The new series of the show will also see a guest appearance from former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, and programme bosses are keen to sign more big names up to mark a decade on screen.
A source said: "There are more names to come. We’re going all out to make this a series to remember."
