Paula Lane "doesn’t really think about" ‘Coronation Street’ nowadays.
The 32-year-old actress played Kylie Platt in the ITV soap from 2010 to 2016, and while she "really mourned" the character – who was killed by Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison) – following her departure from the show, she has "too much going on" to think about the cobbles now.
She said: "I’m moving into a completely new world. I don’t really think about it anymore, to be honest, there’s just too much going on.
"And that’s a lovely thing, don’t get me wrong.
"When I left, I really mourned that part, it was like a process I had to go through as an actress.
"I’d been playing her for so long and I loved my fellow cast members dearly and I genuinely mean that."
Since departing the cobbles, Paula has starred in stage production ‘#BeMoreMartyn: The Boy with the Deirdre Tattoo’, which celebrated the life of Martyn Hett, one of the soap’s biggest supporters who was tragically killed in the Manchester Arena bombing last year.
And she recently landed the role Lauren in musical ‘Kinky Boots’, which she says is "exactly" where she "wants to be".
She added to Express.co.uk: "I was about to have a baby as well, so emotionally that didn’t really help! But now, things have changed for me.
"I’m exactly where I want to be."
After the actress was cast in ‘#BeMoreMartyn: The Boy with the Deirdre Tattoo’, Paula admitted she had landed the part "for a reason".
She said: "He was such a big fan that he had a tattoo of Deirdre Barlow on his calf. I know he will have watched me as Kylie Platt on TV all the time.
"I also have a feeling our paths may have crossed at some point.
"Martyn would be totally made-up to know about this play and I feel it’s been sent my way for a reason.
"I’m sure some of my ‘Corrie’ colleagues will be coming to see me, plus I’m really looking forward to taking the play to Brighton and London."
