Paula Faris is reportedly getting axed from ‘The View’.
The TV presenter – who is very open about her religious views – is allegedly in line for the chop from the ABC talk show after producers conducted some market research.
A source told the New York Post newspaper:
"ABC News was hoping [Paula] would bring a more conservative perspective to the show because she’s a conservative Christian. But she doesn’t own her opinions and the audience never connects with anyone who’s pretending.
"ABC News did research and Paula scored some of the lowest numbers ever that the network had seen."
Paula joined the show last year and the paper also alleges that one of her co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, is thrilled she is going.
The source continued: "Whoopi is elated about this. She has never been a fan of Paula’s. The tension on-air has been so thick you could cut it with a knife. Whoopi never misses an opportunity to bite her head off over any given topic."
However, another show insider insists the 40-year-old news anchor is staying, revealing: "I haven’t heard anything about any research. She works hard and everyone loves Paula. She’s a journalist. Her job is to be objective."
A show representative added: "Paula is a great addition to the team, and she’ll absolutely be back as a co-host next season."
