Paul Weller unveils ‘romantic’ single Long Long Road

Paul Weller’s new single ‘Long Long Road’ is a "beautiful romantic song".
The ‘Changingman’ hitmaker unveiled the brand new track ahead of his performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Thursday (30.03.17) evening for the Teenage Cancer Trust on the Chris Evans BBC Radio Two Breakfast Show.
The track, which follows his 2015 LP ‘Saturns Pattern’, was recorded at the Modfather’s own studio in Surrey, South East England, which he says is a "very creative warm place" to nurture his music.
He said: "It was all done in my own studio, which is in Surrey, where we normally record."
Asked if it was always his dream to have his own studio, he said: "It was my dream. It has been fantastic for us. It’s kind of like our HQ as well. It’s just a very creative warm place."
Introducing the song, he added: "It’s a very beautiful romantic song really and I suppose called ‘Long Long Road’."
The former Jam frontman recently said he is determined to release two more albums before he turns 60.
He’s close to releasing his 13th solo record, ‘A Kind of Revolution’, and is already working on an acoustic-based follow-up that he wants to get out before his milestone birthday in May 2018.
In January, he said: "I wanna try and get it out for my 60th.
"I can’t f**k about man. I gotta get on with it. There’s so much to do."
The ‘Wild Wood’ rocker said that he wants a "spiritual revolution" on his next record.
He said of ‘A Kind of Revolution’: "I think it’s more to do with human or social politics really.
"It’s like, ‘Where’s the new peace movement?’ It feels like the stirrings of World War III and obviously we can’t let that happen."So really, it’s about having some kind of spiritual revolution born out of love, compassion and hope, as opposed to a revolution where everyone slaughters even more of each other."
One track on the record, ‘One Tear’, features guest vocals from Boy George and Paul is thrilled with their collaboration.
He said: "I really love George’s voice and I think he’s just got better with age and time.
"Our voices work really well together."
