Paul Hollywood is keen to launch an acting career.
The 53-year-old celebrity chef is hoping to get his big break after dabbling in scenes for ‘The Great British Bake Off’ comedy sketches, during which his fellow show judge Sandi Toksvig, 61, praised him for his acting skills and suggested he go into acting.
He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I’d love to try acting. I have done a couple of sketches on ‘Bake Off’, and Sandi said, ‘Your timing is good, you should act.’ "
Paul already has an idea of what roles he would like to take on after being called "intense" and "scary" by former ‘Bake-Off’ contestants.
He added: "Obviously I’d be a baddie."
Paul could get some acting tips soon as the cast of ‘Derry Girls’ are set to join him in the ‘Bake-Off’ tent for a festive special.
Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Dylan Llewellyn and Siobhan McSweeney will all be stepping into the iconic tent to display their cooking skills on the Channel 4 programme to air on New Year’s Day (01.01.20).
Nicola – who plays nervous schoolgirl Clare Devlin – announced the news on her Twitter account, writing: "The News is Out!
#DerryGirls do #BakeOff!!! Tune in on New Years Day to see if we burn down the tent #GBBO (sic)"
Judges Prue Leith and Paul will return to assess the contestants, whilst Noel Fielding and Sandi will be on hand to comfort the bakers as they reprise their hosting roles.
They will be judged on their culinary efforts as they see in the new year with the London Community Gospel Choir.
However, Nicola is already working up a sweat as she prepares to face the scary Paul in hopes of gaining the legendary Hollywood Handshake.
