Patrick Grant would happily date a fan of ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’.
The 48-year-old fashion designer – who has judged the sewing competition since 2013 – has revealed he’s open to the idea of dating a fan of the show.
He said: "I’ve dated people who are fans, but I didn’t find them through the fandom. It would be unusual if that was how it happened, but I couldn’t rule it out.
"There are quite a lot of fans, so if I start saying I wouldn’t date anyone who was a fan I’d be disappointing several million people."
Patrick – who split from girlfriend Katie Hillier in 2016 after eight years together – has received some "extreme" fan mail from potential suitors over the years.
However, the TV star has also found the declarations of love to be hilarious.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I certainly get a lot of messages now. I can’t even tell you the most extreme because some of them are genuinely obscene.
"I got a note from the daughter of a fan who wanted to pimp me out. She said, ‘Would you like to spend lockdown with my mum?’.
"It was hilarious. Her mum then had to get back in touch and say, ‘Erm, sorry about my daughter’."
The ‘Sewing Bee’ judge – who fronts the show with Esme Young, 71, and presenter Joe Lycett, 31 – also revealed he isn’t the only member of the team that fans obsess over.
He added: "It’s not got to Tom Jones-level yet. Last year some pig festival made papier-mache pig versions of us and dressed them up.
"We’ve also been sent knitted versions of ourselves. It’s brilliant and bonkers. Somebody has little models of me and they change the jackets every week to match what I wear on the show."
