Paris Jackson has reportedly struck up a close friendship with former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Tom Kilbey.
The 18-year-old actress – who is the daughter of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson – shelved her romance with long-time boyfriend Michael Snoddy after almost a year of dating earlier this month, and has been spending time with the 26-year-old hunk who is over in Los Angeles trying to make it in the fashion world.
Tom – who previously dated his co-star Lydia Bright – has impressed his former ‘TOWIE’ pals, who can’t believe he’s best friends with the offspring of the late ‘Thriller’ hitmaker.
However, an insider insists there relationship is platonic at the moment with no hint of romance yet.
A source told The Sun Online: "The ‘TOWIE’ cast can’t believe it.
"Tom has been trying to make a name for himself in the States and has managed to become involved in a set made up of aspiring young fashion hopefuls. They have been getting close and both share the same drive for their careers but it’s believed the relationship is not romantic."
Paris reportedly split from Michael to focus on her role in ‘Precious’ filmmaker Lee Daniels’ new TV show ‘Star’.
A source previously stated: "Paris ended things with Michael … She is doing well, enjoying being on set with Lee Daniels and focusing her energy on the opportunities ahead."
However, the insider admitted they wouldn’t be surprised if the former couple – who recently enjoyed a romantic break in Paris, France – get back together in the future.
They added: "It appears that Paris and Michael have parted ways for now, but their future is uncertain…
"It might just be a temporary fix until she finds her way back to Michael again."
While Paris hasn’t confirmed the split, she made reference to how difficult it is to love a "selfish" person on Twitter.
She posted: "Loving a selfish person, whether a friend or more than a friend, is a tremendously heartbreaking thing to do to yourself. (sic)"
