Paloma Faith: It’s hard having a big heart

Paloma Faith finds it difficult having a "big heart".

The 33-year-old singer scooped the British Female Solo Artist accolade at last night’s BRIT Awards (25.02.15) and admitted she found it tough when she won because she was so scared about forgetting to thank people who have helped her during her career.

She told BANG Showbiz: "It’s really hard when you’ve got a big heart because you walk around apologising all the time, it’s quite an uncomfortable type of person to be. I’m always permanently anxious, like, did I thank them? Did I behave? Did I say thank you? Did I do this? It’s like, obsessive!"

However, the ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ singer – who performed the track at the prestigious event at London’s O2 Arena – was annoyed with herself after accepting the award because despite her best efforts to remember everyone, she failed to thank her management company.

She explained: "I really did not expect to win this, that’s why I forgot to thank my management, I was so overwhelmed. I was in so much shock and I had a little piece of card that I’d written peoples’ names down on because just before, my manager was acting weird, he said he’d heard the cameras were coming over so I was scribbling names of people down who I would thank."

As well as being pleased by the recognition of her music, the ‘Changing’ hitmaker said she is thrilled to have won because she is such a huge admirer of artist Tracey Emin, who designed the awards.

She added: "I’m going to put it in pride of place. I’m a big fan of Tracey Emin, now I own a piece!"
