Paige Turley has claimed her ex-boyfriend Lewis Capaldi is "terrible with women".
The 22-year-old beauty – who is set to hit the ‘Love Island’ villa on Sunday (12.01.20) – dated the chart-topping singer for 18 months when they were teenagers, but she insisted while the 23-year-old singer didn’t have much luck with romance, they "fell into" a relationship.
Recalling how they got together, Paige told The Sun newspaper: "He’s terrible with women. He never had a chat-up line as such, as we went through college together.
"I kind of just fell into it. It was never like he tried to chat me up or such. It just kind of happened quite naturally.
"It was never like a moment where I could go, ‘Oh, that was the turning point.’ It was just friendship level and then . . . "
Though Paige hasn’t spoke to Lewis since landing her spot on the ITV2 dating show, the ex-lovers are still "friendly" and thinks he will find a way to make a joke once she hits TV screens.
She said: "I think Lewis will find the fact I’m on the show quite funny. But you never know, he might even vote. Me and Lewis are still very, very friendly.
"You’ve seen his social media, he’s a very witty, funny guy. So he’ll probably make a total joke about it."
Meanwhile, reports began circulating that Lewis’ heart-breaking song ‘Someone You Loved’ was about the former ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ contestant, but Paige admitted the superstar has never told her the smash hit is about their relationship.
She explained: "He’s never ever said to me, ‘This is about you’. Obviously it’s a really relatable song, for everyone. He’s great, he’s so talented. Anybody listening to his music, it’d be hard to say anything negative."
And Paige knows jokester Iain Stirling – who narrates the show – is sure to make plenty of references to the song.
She added: "I mean, it’s a great song. It’s relatable, and it would probably fit right in. That will be my walk-in song, probably."
