Sarah Hyland feels sorry for her Hollywood peers

Sarah Hyland thinks it's "sad" that so many young Hollywood stars need rehab.
The 'Modern Family' actress, who plays Haley Dunphy in the comedy series, has no desire to be seen as a party girl and thinks a lot of her peers, such as Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan and Selena Gomez, are really in "pain."
The 23-year-old star told VanityFair.com: "It makes me really upset when I see stuff like that, because these people are talented. It's not like they're just kids who have a lot of money and are f**king up. So when I see people who are so talented get themselves into D.U.I.s or rehab or anything like that, it just makes me sad because you can tell that they're really in pain; there's something wrong. It's a sad situation because they have all this talent and success, but something's not there, something's missing - so they replace it with drugs, or alcohol, or sex."
The brunette beauty would rather be known for her acting than her personal life.
She said: "I don't like the F word and I don't like the C word. I like the real F word and C word, but I don't like 'famous' and I don't like 'celebrity.'
"I'm not dying to be in that ['Young Hollywood'] group, but if people put me in it, I'm really flattered. I'm more of a homebody type. I don't want to look like I want to be in the public eye. I didn't become an actress to be famous."

Nick Frost put his back out salsa dancing

Nick Frost "put his back out" while salsa dancing.
The 41-year-old actor injured himself "very badly" while filming a dance-off with Chris O'Dowd for their new romantic comedy, 'Cuban Fury.'
Speaking at the UK premiere of the film at the Vue Cinema in London's Leicester Square tonight (06.02.14), director James Griffiths told BANG Showbiz: "Nick injured himself very badly actually during the rooftop dance. We had to go back and film some elements. We had some wires when he catches Chris O'Dowd and I remember it, he sort of throws Chris down in the air and catches him and Nick, in true style, very gritty, caught him for real. He put his back out. So the next day was a bit of a panic. He had a lot of massages and a lot of oils. I think he quite enjoyed it."
Nick, who conceived the film, and Irish actor Chris attended the premiere alongside their co-stars Rashida Jones, Olivia Colman and Kayvan Novak, as well as singer Paloma Faith.
Other stars on the red carpet included Lake Bell and Simon Pegg, who are currently filming the movie 'Man Up' together in London.
The film hits cinemas in the UK on February 14.

Cate Blanchett clears schedule to grieve

Cate Blanchett cleared her schedule following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The 'Blue Jasmine' star, who was spotted visiting the late actor's ex-partner, Mimi O'Donnell, with toys for their three children, Cooper, 10, Tallulah, seven, and Willa, five, at their home in New York City on Monday (03.02.14), cancelled a string of appearances to take a few days off to grieve for her close friend.
A spokesperson for the 44-year-old Australian actress told The Hollywood Reporter that her team made the decision to postpone interviews on 'Good Morning America' and 'Live! With Kelly and Michael' to promote her new film, 'The Monuments Men,' on Wednesday (05.02.14) "to allow Cate the time and privacy to grieve the loss of her friend Philip Seymour Hoffman."
The Oscar-nominee formed a close friendship with the 46-year-old actor, who was found dead in his apartment from an apparent heroin overdose on Sunday (02.02.14), while starring alongside him in 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' in 1999.
The actress, who is expected to attend the official Oscar nominees luncheon in Beverly Hills on Monday (10.02.14), has had a stressful few days as she was also called out in Dylan Farrow's open letter on Saturday (01.02.14), in which the 28 year old accused her father, Woody Allen, of sexually abusing her at the age of seven.
Challenging some of the stars of her father's films for working with him, Dylan wrote: "What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett?"
The 'Lord of the Rings' star attempted to distance herself from the scandal over the weekend and said: "It's obviously been a long and painful situation for the family. I hope they find some resolution and peace."

George Clooney is planning ‘dirty’ prank

George Clooney is planning to pull another "downright dirty" prank on Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
'The Monuments Men' star is eager to get back at the comediennes for jokingly describing the movie 'Gravity,' in which he stars alongside Sandra Bullock, as "the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age," when they hosted the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles last month.
The 52-year-old star actor, who already forged an angry letter from his co-star Matt Damon, without his knowledge, and sent it to Tina, is planning something much bigger as the former '30 Rock' star urged him to "step it the f**k up" but isn't sure he has the guts to pull it off.
He told 'Entertainment Weekly Radio' on Sirius XM in a new interview that will air on Friday (07.02.14): "[They] said step it up. That's the appetizer and what's coming now, the main course, is pretty brutal."
He added: "This one is one that I have it in my hotel room set -- taking pictures and stuff -- I'm sitting there like, 'If I do this, this is downright dirty.' I have to think if I'm actually going to do it or not."
Matt, 43, revealed during an interview on 'The Late Show with David Letterman' on Wednesday (05.02.14) that he only found out about George's prank letter when he received an apology letter from Tina and Amy with two fruit baskets.

Charlie Sheen threatens Ashton Kutcher

Charlie Sheen threatened to put Ashton Kutcher in the hospital shortly after apologising to him.
The 48-year-old actor reached out to the 'Two and a Half Men' star, who replaced him when Charlie was fired from the show over his erratic behaviour in 2010, after the 35-year-old star called him out for repeatedly bashing his performance in the CBS comedy on Twitter.
The 'Anger Management' star promised to stop berating his successor after Ashton blasted him during an interview on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' on Wednesday night (05.02.14), saying: "Dude, shut the f**k up! Enough already. It's three years later and you're still blowing me up on Twitter. Come on dude, really?"
Charlie took to Twitter this morning (06.02.14) to apologise for his bitter attitude.
He tweeted: "Ashton, message received. so sorry, u sounded like me! well done! my bad I was pissed at other crap & took it out on you. hope u r good xox c. (sic)"
But he minutes later, he added: "but news flash Dood, you ever tell me to shut the F*** up, EVER again, and I'll put you on a hospital food diet for a year. c #YaFeelMe Jr?"
Charlie regularly sends Ashton public messages on Twitter, calling him "lame."
Praising his former co-star Jon Cryer in a series of tweets last year, he wrote: "hey Jon!!! u r a GENIUS!!! I effin love and MISS YOU old pal! Q; who's your lame side-kik? c #NiceTryCanonBoy #CH (sic)"
He later added: "hey relax everyone! read the hash tag! oh and Jon I'm so sorry I insulted your sidekik I meant REALLY lame c (sic)"
In another attack on the former 'Punk'd' star, he wrote: "hey Ashton sorry bro all good. now quit barfing on my old brilliant show. Remember Punk'd? how duz it feel? c harp (sic)"

Channing Tatum is ‘very fat and happy’

Channing Tatum is happy to have gained a lot of weight.
The 'Magic Mike' star, who is well known for his chiseled physique and was voted the Sexiest Man Alive in 2012, has stopped working out so he can spend more time with his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, and their eight-month-old daughter, Everly.
When teased about always being asked to take his clothes off, the 33-year-old actor told 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' today (06.02.14): "You definitely don't want that right now.
"Right now - what me and my wife [Jenna Dewan Tatum] like to call it, I am very 'fappy.' I'm very fat and happy right now ... I've been working for two straight years, and now it's some really needed downtime."
Channing is currently recording vocals for the upcoming animated movie, 'The Book of Life.'
The actor is glad to have more time to watch Everly develop.
He gushed: "Ah, man. She's 8 months old now. She's saying 'Da, da, da, da, da.' I don't think she knows what it means just yet, but it doesn't matter."
Jenna, 33, previously said that Everly is a huge fan of Drake and Channing admitted she is very picky when it comes to lullabies.
He said: "She actually has better taste in music than I think I do, because she will only fall asleep to really good music. She might be conceited, I'm not sure but ... Prince's 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the World,' she loves falling asleep to that."

Emma Watson is shy at parties

Emma Watson is "socially awkward".
The 23-year-old actress struggles in big crowds because she finds it difficult to chat to people and often escapes to the bathroom on the rare occasions she goes to parties.
She said: "I feel like I've been given a lot of credit where it isn't due that I don't like to party.
"The truth is that I'm genuinely a shy, socially awkward, introverted person. At a big party, I'm like Bambi in the headlights. It's too much stimulation for me, which is why I end up going to the bathroom! I need time outs!
"I get anxious. I'm terrible at small talk and I have a ridiculously short attention span."
In 2009, Emma enrolled in prestigious Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island but deferred her studies after 18 months because she was also working on the 'Harry Potter' film series.
Because of her hectic schedule, the 'Noah' star - who went on to study for a year at Oxford University in the UK before returning to Brown last year - has learned how to relax and appreciate she can't do everything.
Speaking to the new edition of Wonderland magazine - which she has guest edited - she said: "Now I really know how to take care of myself, how to be alone, how to deal with stress.
"If I hadn't been through that time, I wouldn't have got there. I never knew I had limits. You make good friends and you make bad friends, and you have to figure it all out.
"You realise you can't do everything. I really did think I could do it all - commute back to the UK for 'Potter' filming and press, then go to Brown for finals, and keep up with my friends and family. You can't do it, by the way. You do have to take breaks.
"It's how I became interested in meditation and yoga. I developed bedtime rituals."

Lady Gaga excited about space gig

Lady Gaga feels "honoured" to perform in space.
The 'Born this Way' hitmaker is set to sing outside of the Earth's atmosphere next year following the launch of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic commercial space flights - which will cost $250,000 per seat - and she is looking forward to using the opportunity to spread a "message of love".
She said: " I honestly can't wait [to perform in space]. I can't wait to design the performance.
"I'm auctioning off my second seat [on a Virgin Galactic flight] to raise money for the Born This Way Foundation. I want to make a moment that is about much more than me.
"Performing in space is such an honour. I want to challenge myself to come up with something that will not only bring everyone together but will also have a message of love that blasts into the beyond."
Because of her hectic schedule, the 27-year-old singer - who is in a relationship with actor Taylor Kinney - says she doesn't have a permanent home and mostly uses her New York apartment to keep her expensive belongings.
Asked where she calls home, she told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "My 'home' is a controversial topic. I don't exactly have one. I live all over the world. I keep a small rental in New York, where I hang many of my hats when I come to see my parents and New York pals. It's like a tiny jewel box, covered in rose-gold mirrors, with an oversize pink couch, an expensive vase, a white Marilyn piano, and a boudoir.
"I do not keep a lot of clothes here - mostly punk wear. And the three most expensive items I've ever purchased, including an actual house: my sable, a strand of diamonds, and my Mikimoto pearls."

Dakota Johnson has no shame

Dakota Johnson has "no shame".
The 24-year-old actress is to portray Anasasia Steele opposite Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey in the big-screen adaptation of E. L. James' 'Fifty Shades of Grey' trilogy and she insists he has no concerns about shooting any of the raunchy scenes.
She said: "I don't have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame."
And Dakota insists she was more interested in the "emotional" aspects of the story than any of the sexy scenes.
Asked what intrigued her about the books, she told the new issue of America's Elle magazine: "Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there's a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down."
The actress is the daughter of actor Don Johnson and his ex-wife Melanie Griffith and she claimed she used to get "picked on" for having famous parents by people who didn't even know her.
She said: "I think people, especially the press, like to pick on children of famous people and I think that's f***ing awful. Things get made up. It's so, so sad. And there's absolutely nothing you can do about it as a 16 year old. You're like....Why? What did I do?"

Joel Kinnaman hurt leg on Robocop

Joel Kinnaman injured a muscle in his leg while shooting 'Robocop'.
The 34-year-old actor - who plays cop Alex Murphy who is turned into a cyborg law enforcement officer in the movie - didn't sustain any serious injuries while shooting the action-packed science fiction film and the only ailment he did suffer was a minor muscular strain.
When asked if he had gotten injured at any point during the shoot, Joel told BANG Showbiz: "I pulled my hamstring one day, I did it when I was running."
Kinnaman appears in the movie with a stellar cast, which includes Abbie Cornish, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton.
But there was one actor who Kinnaman enjoyed working with more than anyone else.
Speaking at the movie's world premiere at the BFI IMAX Odeon cinema in London on Wednesday night (05.02.14), he said: "Working with Gary Oldman was one of the great experiences of my life, he's an incredible actor and also a wonderful man.
"I was extremely happy (to get the role), I worked hard to get it. I had to audition three times and finally I was able to convince Dr. Padilha (director) that I was the right guy."
Kinnaman was joined on the special blue carpet at the event yesterday evening by his co-stars Oldman and Cornish and the film's director José Padilha.

Mike Batt to receive royal LVO

Mike Batt will be attending the Investiture at Buckingham Palace on Friday (07.02.14).
The songwriter, musician and producer is due to receive the LVO (Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian), a personal gift from Britain's Queen Elizabeth which recognises distinguished service to the Royal Household.
The star is best known for creating novelty act The Wombles' music, writing pop song 'Bright Eyes', and discovering Katie Melua.
Mike was appointed LVO in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in June 2013, and will be accompanied tomorrow by his wife, actress Julianne White, and son, singer-songwriter Luke Batt.
He said at the time: "I was completely shocked - in a great way - to be told of this honour. It's particularly nice that the appointment to the Royal Victorian Order is in the direct gift of The Queen. I have obviously done something that has been recognised, but I can't think exactly what!
"All I can say is wherever I have been in contact with the Royal Household or been asked to compose or perform pieces for Royal Occasions it has always been an honour in itself. To receive an 'actual' proper honour is an unexpected bonus and gives me a lovely warm feeling!"
The Order was founded in April 1896 by Queen Victoria as a way of rewarding personal service to her, without having to go through ministerial recommendation.

Lars Ulrich: ‘We’re one day closer’ to new Metallica album

Lars Ulrich says Metallica are in no hurry to finish their upcoming album.
The metal band have been busy with their feature film 'Through the Never', but are now working on the follow-up to their 2008 record 'Death Magnetic', although Lars admits they're in no rush to complete it.
The drummer said: "What I can say is, we're one day closer to the next record being released than we were yesterday. Unless there's what's called an 'Act of God,' I would hedge my bets that '201' would be the first three digits in the release year.
"And I don't know much beyond that. We've been jamming along. We've been putting in some time."
The heavy metal legends - made up of frontman James Hatfield, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo - will premiere a new track on their upcoming tour but Kirk claims they haven't done much work on the album so far.
He added to Rolling Stone magazine: "We've jammed on certain bits and pieces of music ... But we're still going through that process. Once we figure out what pieces of music are actually gonna work us, then we're going to start turning those pieces of music into songs and seeing where that leads us."
