Nicolas Cage doesn't regret any of his career choices.
The 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' star doesn't have a problem with his decision to accept roles in big action movies, insisting he was motivated to try something new because of naysayers claiming he couldn't do it.
Speaking about his regrets to Red Bull's Red Bulletin , he said: "I don't look at it like that. Much has been made of the fact that I made many action movies.
"The reason I did that was because the first time people said, you couldn't do it. 'You are not an action hero, forget it'. So what you saw was a dramatic actor acting like an action hero, trying to find characters that were interesting within the genre.
"And then I tried to mix in a little 'Lord of War', a little 'World Trade Center', 'The Weather Man' and 'Bad Lieutenant' and keep the spectrum going. Now having done that, I want to focus on the dramatic kind of filmmaking."
The star described his latest role in 'Joe' as the continued "process of reinventing" himself, with a keen focus on deeper characters he could get to grips with.
He added: "I am in the process of reinventing myself in terms of the movies I want to do. I am returning to my roots, which is independently spirited, dramatic characters.
"Before 'Joe', I had taken a year off to re-evaluate everything I had done, different kinds of performances I had done, the more operatic and more baroque stuff like 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance', 'Drive Angry' or 'Season of the Witch'.
"I wanted to find something where I could use my life experience, my memories and my emotions."
Chris O'Dowd has defended Justin Bieber's recent behaviour.
The 'Bridesmaids' star believes the 'Beauty and a Beat' hitmaker's controversy - which includes being investigated over the egging of a neighbour's house and getting arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest and driving with an invalid licence - makes sense given his quick rise to fame.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I would have reacted in the same way as Justin Bieber if I'd got famous so young."
The 34-year-old actor added he expected Justin, 19, to have gone further with his behaviour, and joked if he'd been in the same position he might have "killed a guy".
He said: "It's strange that he hasn't gone worse. I think I would have killed a guy by now."
Meanwhile, Justin's uncle has claimed his nephew's problems stem from his on/off relationship with Selena Gomez.
Brad Bieber recently explained: "How would you feel if your first love didn't work out?
"How would you feel if that relationship went sour and then it became public and you had no chance to heal or sort out your own emotions and feelings? He is just a brokenhearted, lost little boy."
Peter Andre wants to have more children.
The singer - whose fiancée Emily McDonagh gave birth to their first daughter last month - has admitted the new arrival has made him change his mind on whether he would like to expand his family.
He told the Daily Express newspaper's Saturday magazine: "At Christmas I'd have said no [to more babies]. Now it's yes.
"I've had some very dark days but our daughter has given me a new lease of life ... She is gorgeous. Emily is the perfect little mum and we are all bonding very quickly."
Peter - who has children Junior, eight, and Princess, six, with his ex-wife Katie Price - recently revealed he has been discussing parenting skills with Gary Barlow after they both won Father of the Year.
He said: "I had this chat with Gary Barlow - he won Father of the Year last year and I had it the two years before.
"We discussed what makes a good parent, and the answer is simple, no one does it the right or wrong way, you put your kids first, you're a good parent. I'm much easier and more lenient with my kids than my parents were with me, but it doesn't make me a worse parent, it's my way.
"Before he won, Gary said 'I'm taking it off you this year, Andre'. I said I'd let him have it, maybe I need to give my arm a rest."
David Beckham says his sons will all be "ladykillers".
The retired soccer star thinks Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, and eight-year-old Cruz will successful with the ladies because they are "good-looking" and have been brought up to be "polite".
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, he said: "I think they are all going to be [hits with the ladies].
"The boys are all good-looking, polite, have great manners, are very fun-loving and so I think they're all going be ladykillers."
While David, 38, is known for his various famous hairstyles, he admitted he is jealous of Brooklyn's latest hairdo and wishes he had his locks.
He added: "He has this whole style going on and I kind of wish I had his hair. It is very cool."
However, the proud father - who also has a two-year-old daughter - is disappointed because he won't get to spend Valentine's Day (02.14.14) with his wife Victoria because he will be supporting charity UNICEF in the Philippines.
He explained: "Unfortunately I am not with Victoria on Valentine's. I am actually in the Philippines with UNICEF to visit different sites."
Lily Allen thinks Miley Cyrus' sexy image is "great".
The 'Hard Out Here' hitmaker believes stars like the 'Wrecking Ball' singer are in control of their provocative appearance and thinks the former 'Hannah Montana' star is right to show off her "banging" body because she has worked so hard on her physique.
She told France's NRJ Radio: "I actually think Rihanna and Miley in particular are [being sexy] because they want to do it. I don't think someone sat in a room with Miley Cyrus and said, 'Right you're going to be sexy, stick your tongue out and wear bikinis.'
"She wants to do that, she's got a banging body. She's worked out in the gym all the time, she wants to show it off, that's great."
However, Lily finds it "offensive" that some record company executives can encourage female artists to cultivate a sexy image.
She said: " 'Hard Out Here' was a comment on the state of the music industry where women are concerned. As a woman that works in this industry, if I want to be sexy and take my clothes off, I'll do it of my own accord.
" It's when somebody tells you to do it that I find it offensive. If you were a record company person you'd never ask a boy to take his top off.
"I just don't want someone saying to me, 'You've got to lose 50 pounds or take your clothes off to sell records', because it's not true."
Adele earned £30 million in 2013 without touring or releasing any music.
The 'Skyfall' singer's Melted Stone company revealed a turnover of £30,475,299 for the past financial year, which was filed this week with Companies House.
According to reports in The Sun newspaper, Adele took home £12.1 million, which included a £4.9 million pay package and a £7.2 million dividend.
Her huge income was earned despite not releasing any albums or singles, and she didn't go on the road to play a run of live shows.
However, the success of her album '21' has boosted her bank balance, despite being released three years ago.
Despite a year of relative inactivity, the £30 million equates to almost £84,000, although this is still a lower figure than some of her fellow pop stars.
'Material Girl' Madonna brings in an estimated £247,000, while collectively One Direction earn £164,000.
However, her predicted daily earnings are still more than retired soccer superstar David Beckham, whose predicted total £79,000.
Although Adele has been quiet musically for a while, she has been raising her 16-month-old son Angelo, with work now starting on her highly-anticipated third album.
Woody Allen has hit back at allegations he molested his daughter Dylan Farrow.
The iconic filmmaker - whose adopted child recently spoke out claiming he had abused her at the age of seven - has penned an open letter in which he denies any wrongdoing and insists she has been "exploited" by her mother Mia.
He wrote in the New York Times: "Of course, I did not molest Dylan. I loved her and hope one day she will grasp how she has been cheated out of having a loving father and exploited by a mother more interested in her own festering anger than her daughter's well-being."
The 'Blue Jasmine' director also revealed while Dylan believes the allegations, he thinks she feels that way as a result of his ex-partner convincing her it happened.
He said: "Not that I doubt Dylan hasn't come to believe she's been molested, but if from the age of 7 a vulnerable child is taught by a strong mother to hate her father because he is a monster who abused her, is it so inconceivable that after many years of this indoctrination the image of me Mia wanted to establish had taken root?"
In his in-depth essay, Woody insisted his ex-wife even "fabricated" the location of the abuse, adding it was a too "cramped" a space for someone who suffers with claustophobia.
He continued: "Even the venue where the fabricated molestation was supposed to have taken place was poorly chosen but interesting.
"Mia chose the attic of her country house, a place she should have realized I'd never go to because it is a tiny, cramped, enclosed spot where one can hardly stand up and I'm a major claustrophobe.
"The one or two times she asked me to come in there to look at something, I did, but quickly had to run out."
Woody initially faced allegations in 1992 during a custody battle with Mia, but they were later dropped without charge.
Kym Marsh's daughter Emily has auditioned for 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The 'Coronation Street' actress - who was joined by her soap co-stars Alison King, Ian Puleston-Davies - supported the 16-year-old singer in Manchester and it is said she has been a "good mentor".
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Kym knows what it takes to go all the way. Emily has a great chance and has a good mentor."
Before her daughter's audition, Kym took to Twitter to voice her support and wish her "baby" all the best in her audition.
She wrote: "Wishing my baby all the luck in the world today! Too proud of you emz. (sic)"
Kym - who appeared on talent show Popstars and formed band Hear'Say in 2001 - was on hand in Manchester, and judge Alesha Dixon told Emily she has a "fantastic teacher" to guide her through her career.
She said: "You've had a fantastic teacher then, in your mum."
Meanwhile, comedian David Walliams praised Kym's daughter for being "so brave" by auditioning for the show despite the pressure of her mum's great success.
Simon Cowell's 'X Factor' UK return means the US version has been cancelled.
The media mogul confirmed yesterday (07.02.14) he will make his judging comeback after a three-year break, but the American show won't continue without him at the helm.
In a statement to MTV News, he said: "I've had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on 'The X Factor' and ' American Idol'. And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!).
"Last year, for a number of reasons, I had to make a decision to return to the UK version of 'The X Factor' in 2014. So for now, I'm back to the UK and I want to thank Fox for being an incredible partner and I also want to thank everybody who has supported my shows. America, I'll see you soon!"
In the statement, Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly added the show was nothing "without Simon".
He continued: "To all of us at Fox, Simon is more than one of the most prolific TV personalities of our time - he's part of our family.
"A consummate showman and partner, there's no one more passionate or creative than Simon, and we feel so fortunate to have enjoyed such a wonderful, collaborative relationship with him over the past 12 years.
"Unfortunately, there is no 'X Factor USA' without Simon Cowell, but we understand and support his decision to focus on the international formats and on the next phase of his personal life. We wish him the very best, and it's our sincere hope that we work together again soon."
Morgan Freeman says 'King Kong' "scared the daylights" out of him when he first saw it.
The 76-year-old Oscar-winning actor moved from a rural area to the city when he was a boy and couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a movie for the first time, especially as it featured a gorilla as tall as a house.
He said: "The first movie I ever saw was 'King Kong'. It scared the daylights out of me. I was six and had dreams for a long time about that ape. I had moved from rural Mississippi to Chicago, where there were telephones, indoor plumbing, and - a foreign thing to me - movie theatres. I immediately fell in love. They were such magical places."
It wasn't just movies which Morgan fell in love with, but also the starts in them too.
He tole People magazine: "I was in love with a lot of actresses, but always had this big crush on Angela Lansbury. She was gorgeous in 'The Picture of Dorian Grey'. I loved everything about her. Years later I met her and told her. She said, 'Oh you're such a dear boy.' "
Beck spent a year thinking people hated him.
The 'Loser' singer hired The Flaming Lips to support him on tour in 2002 but frontman Wayne Coye criticised him after the gigs, describing him as a "d**k", which led Beck to believe he wasn't liked in the industry.
He said: "I really don't know [why he said that]. I was very surprised, because I have a videotape of the last night where they were saying, 'I love you, this tour has changed our lives, you're a brother', so it really messed my head up. I went around for a year thinking people hated me."
The 43-year-old singer and producer believes Wayne thought he wasn't rock 'n' roll enough, but claims he was ill during the tour and struggled to perform for his fans.
He added in an interview with MOJO Magazine: "Wayne probably sensed I'm the kind of guy who cares what people think, that I don't come off as some asshole rock-star type.
"What he didn't know was that I was really sick during the tour, I had some condition and I barely had the strength to pick up a guitar.
"So after the shows, I had to go to my bunk and sleep. One show, I got food poisoning so I delayed it half an hour, which he probably thought was theatrical. But we had a good time! I was hoping afterwards that we'd do a record together."
The Wanted feel "shafted" by Max George.
The 'Walks Like Rihanna' group are set to go their separate ways following their 'Word of Mouth' tour later this year and in the wake of Max's confession that tensions have been high within the band for some time, it's believed his bandmates Tom Parker, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran are upset by his behaviour.
A source close to Tom told new! magazine: "Not only has he sold his story but there are deep-rooted problems within the band that he's the source of, which have been ongoing for a while."
Max admitted in a recent interview that the band's personal lives - including their high-profile relationships - had disrupted the harmony within the group, and claimed he didn't get along with Siva's fiancee Nareesha McCaffrey.
Despite tensions within The Wanted, the teen heartthrobs' farewell tour will still go ahead in March.
The insider added: "Max feels bad for selling his story and is desperately trying to stay in the boys' good books, so there's no way he wouldn't do the tour. He also needs the money."
