Joe Jonas wants Selena Gomez to be "happy".
The 24-year-old singer is a fan of his fellow former Disney star - who previously dated his brother Nick - and is hoping she can continue doing great things in her career following her recent stint in rehab.
Asked if he is a fan of the 'Come & Get It' hitmaker, he said: "I am! I am! I mean, her career been great and she is going to succeed and I want her to succeed and I want her to be happy!"
The former Jonas Brothers star believes the key to keeping himself on the right track and not succumbing to the pressures of fame is to learn from the mistakes of those he admires.
Discussing dealing with fame, he told E! News: "Something that I heard from someone I looked up to was, 'Watch the people around you and learn from their mistakes so you don't make the same.
"I just held on to that and any time I saw a celebrity I really looked up to screw up, I just was like 'all right, I am not going to do that or try my best ability to avoid that,' so it's just a learning tool."
Selena, 21, sought help at The Meadows facility in Arizona because she was "burnt out", with reports suggesting she underwent the two-week stint in rehab to address her alcohol and marijuana use.

Philip Seymour Hoffman's alleged drug dealer believes he could have "saved" him.
The 'Capote' actor was found dead from an apparent heroin overdose on February 2 and Robert Vineberg - who has been charged with felony drug possession and was one of three suspected dealers charged in connection with the 46-year-old star's death - insisted he would have encouraged him to seek help if they had been together before his death.
The jazz musician, who claims he last saw the actor in person in October, said: "He was my friend. I could've saved him.
"If I knew he was in town, I would've said, 'Hey, let's make an AA meeting.' If I was with him, it wouldn't have happened. Not under my guard."
Vineberg's last contact with the 'Hunger Games' actor came in December via email and text message and he says they traded messages about staying sober.
In an interview from prison, he recalled to the New York Post newspaper: "He left me a voicemail in December saying, 'I'm clean'.
"We'd text back and forth, 'Oh, I got one day on you!' 'No I've got one day on you.' "
The 57-year-old saxophonist said he was "devastated" by Philip's death and sent his sympathy to the actor's family, children Cooper, 10, Tallulah, seven, and Willa, five, and estranged partner Mimi O'Donnell.
He said: "When we got together, we talked about books. And art. He was a normal guy. You wouldn't know he was an Oscar winner.
"He loved his kids. I offer my condolences to his family."
When asked if he had ever supplied drugs to the actor, he declined to answer.
His lawyer maintained Vineberg's innocence in connection with Philip's death.
The lawyer, Ed Kratt, said: "All of the evidence adduced to date has indicated that Robert did not provide to Mr. Hoffman the narcotics that caused his unfortunate death.
"The evidence also shows that Robert and Mr. Hoffman were true friends who had bonded over and struggled with the dangerous use of narcotic drugs."

The Scottish DJ splashed out on the flash vehicle for the 'How We Do' hitmaker - who currently resides in London - in order to encourage her to pass her driving test before she moves into his Beverly Hills mansion with him.
The 23-year-old singer has been taking back-to-back lessons with her instructor to ensure she gains her licence as soon as possible.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Rita's never needed to worry about getting around before - it's either taxis, the Tube or walking.
"That's not the way it happens in LA. Unless you have a car, doing anything is impossible.
"She doesn't want to have to rely on Calvin to be designated driver."
Calvin asked Rita - who is currently filming 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in Vancouver - to move in to his home in a bid to stop their hectic schedules destroying their romance.
The pair sparked rumours they had called time on their 10-month relationship in December following reports they had spent the festive season arguing.
However, they put a stop to the speculation last month when they arrived at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles together.

David Beckham is taking up street art.
The soccer star retired from the sport last year and although he's still busy with a number of projects - including his new Miami-based Major League Soccer (MLS) side - he's believed to be looking to fill up some of his free time by following in the footsteps of graffiti artists such as Banksy.
A source said: "Having dabbled with classic painting in the past he now wants to do street art style."
The 38-year-old sportsman will use his fashion designer wife, Victoria Beckham, as his muse for his first piece but will also take inspiration from some of his favourite artists.
The source told the Daily Star newspaper: "First he wants to portray his wife. He's been inspired to take a more edgy approach by his vast art collection, which includes works by Damian Hirst and Tracy Emin.
"It was his new year resolution and he's finally getting round to it."
Meanwhile, David and his four children, 14-year-old Brooklyn, 11-year-old Romeo, eight-year-old Cruz and two-year-old Harper, supported Victoria, 39, at her Spring/Summer 2014 New York Fashion Week catwalk show at the weekend and wrote her a touching note saying "Good luck, Mommy."
The former Spice Girls singer was so touched by the note that she posted a picture of it on Twitter accompanied by the caption: "Beautiful message from my babies x vb."

Margot Robbie's legs are believed to have been extended in 'The Wolf Of Wall Street' using "digital surgery".
According to The Sun newspaper, Hollywood bosses are using computer tricks to make leading ladies look thinner and their legs appear longer and the Australian actress is the latest "victim" of computer wizardry.
The firm behind the new "post-production" technology, Lola Visual Effects, refused to deny whether the star's legs had been changed in the movie.
A source close to the actress said she would be "upset" if her legs had been digitally enhanced in a scene in which she stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio on the floor of their daughter's nursery.
The 23-year-old beauty, who is 5ft 6in tall, playfully pushes away her on-screen husband by nudging him with her heel as he appears on his hands and knees in front of her and her legs seem longer than usual.
Margot recently criticised the pressure in Hollywood for women to look thin on the big screen.
She said: "When you look at movies, the lead girl is always gorgeous and thin.
"There is a stereotype that you need to look a certain way and when you get into the business you really feel the pressure."
The company is also believed to have "cleaned up" actors in 'The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty', which stars Kristen Wiig.

John Travolta claims he was Princess Diana's "Prince Charming".
The 59-year-old actor shared a famous dance with the late Princess of Wales - who died in 1997 during a car crash in France - at the White House gala dinner in 1985 and he insists he was able to take her back to her younger years.
He said: "There really was something lovely and girlish about her and I felt that I had taken her back to her childhood when she had probably watched 'Grease' [the musical Travolta starred in as Danny Zuko in 1978] - and for that moment I was her Prince Charming."
However, the 'Saturday Night Fever' star is adamant he wasn't nervous when he took the stunning royal into his arms because he'd watched how she'd dance with her husband Prince Charles - who is now married to Duchess Camilla - in the past.
He explained to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I'd seen her dance with Prince Charles beforehand so I knew that she was strong. But she looked like she was leading him and because I knew that the world was watching I thought that I really needed to give her certainty that I knew what to do. I put my hand in the middle of her back, brought her hand down so that it wouldn't be so high and gave her the confidence that we would do just fine.

Sam Faiers won't have a showmance with Ollie Locke.

Sir Tom Jones thinks Emma Willis has a "great pair of pins".
The 'Sex Bomb' hitmaker, who is working alongside the presenter on talent show 'The Voice', complimented the pretty brunette's legs during filming for the BBC programme.
Emma said: "Tom is so great. The other day I wore a skirt to filming and and he leaned over and said, 'I like your outfit. You've got a great pair of legs on you.'
"Of course, then I ruined it by saying: 'Do you think so? I don't really like them. They look a bit like sausages.' Because back when I was a model, that was what a photographer once said about them."
The 73-year-old singer then had a second glance at Emma's legs and said he didn't agree with the snapper's comments.
The 37-year-old beauty said: "When I said that to Tom, he had another look and said, 'Oh no, they're a great pair of pins. And I know great pins.' It made my day."
And after dozens of compliments about her looks while presenting on 'The Voice' and 'Big Brother', Emma - who has two children Isabelle and Ace with husband Matt Willis - isn't concerned about turning 40 in a few years.

"You've been through the 'having young kids' stage, so you're not tired all the time and, professionally, you're more confident than ever."

Beyoncé is set to perform at this year's BRIT Awards.
The 'Drunk in Love' hitmaker will grace the stage at the ceremony for the first time in ten years, joining Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Arctic Monkeys and Ellie Goulding.
The 32-year-old singer was due to perform at the annual ceremony in 2013 but had to cancel because her new material wasn't ready but is reportedly on board for the event this month.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Beyonce is on. The only reason this has not yet been announced officially is because the Brits guys are nervous that it could all go wrong again.
"But what I can tell you is that in her camp it's 99.9 per cent on."
The star will also join Lorde, Disclosure, Rudimental, Bastille and Bruno Mars on February 19 at London's O2 Arena and organisers are hoping the show will be viewed by over 10 million people.
It has already been a successful year for the 'Single Ladies' hitmaker, who shocked fans by releasing her self-titled fifth studio album without any prior promotion.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are planning to turn their wedding into a week-long event.
The rapper and his reality TV star fiancée - who got engaged in October - are reportedly set to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony in Paris in May that will feature on Kim's reality series 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'.
According to The Sun newspaper, the couple, who have eight-month-old daughter North West, have hired wedding planners who are trying to line-up singers Lady Gaga and Fergie to perform, alongside music legend Stevie Wonder and Wu-Tang Clan.
The huge event is also rumoured to feature fire-dancers, acrobats and fireworks and will have its own currency for guests to spent at a Vegas-style casino.
Kim, 33, and Kanye, 36, met Gaga in Paris and are said to be "desperate" to persuade the 'Applause' hitmaker to perform because they are both fans of her music and she was the first artist who was asked to be involved.
The pair will reportedly spend their honeymoon in Italy, where North was conceived, and Kim is planning to get pregnant again as soon as they get married.
Meanwhile, Kim says Kanye is a "hands-on dad" but admits he isn't keen on changing North's diapers.
The brunette beauty said: "He's not a diaper kind of guy. And that's okay. But he would if it was an emergency."

Liam Payne kicked off at airline staff after his flight was delayed due to a bomb threat.
The One Direction hunk reportedly shocked fellow passengers when he began "swearing up a storm" during the flight from Puerto Rico to Philadelphia over the weekend.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the 20-year-old singer became angry after being told there was a four-hour delay because he was eager to see his girlfriend Sophia Smith, who celebrated her 20th birthday yesterday (09.02.14).
A source said: "Liam was livid. He was tired and grumpy, and just wanted to get home because it was his girlfriend's birthday. He snapped at officials and started swearing. Everyone was quite taken aback."
But the star started to calm down when he realised he wasn't the only passenger annoyed that the US Airways flight 770 was grounded at 1.30pm.
The source added: "He apologised soon after. He didn't mean any offence."
However, fan Brooklyn Wiles was not impressed by Liam's outburst and claimed he refused to smile when she asked for a photograph after the drama.
She posted on Twitter: "I love One Direction ... but for him to act like a complete jerk because of a flight that was delayed due to a bomb threat?!?
"Every single person on that plane has to deal with this too... we all are trying to find flights and get home. And he was swearing up a storm. He was a nobody three years ago...
"Just because you're famous doesn't mean you should be a jerk to your fans.
"It's hard to love someone who takes fame too far. Liam Payne, I've lost my respect. (sic)"
The flight finally took off at 5.18pm after a passenger made the bomb threat and police found no explosives on the plane.

Marc Anthony and Chloe Green have reportedly split up again.
The on/off couple, who first started dating in February 2013, decided to end their romance recently but friends haven't ruled out reconciliation.
An insider told UsMagazine.com: "They are taking a break. It is because of busy schedules."
The duo briefly split last April but reunited in June before jetting off on holiday to St. Tropez in France.
A source said at the time: "The pair got serious very quickly and had the blessing of her parents, but it hasn't worked out. It seems to have been Marc's decision to end it."
The 45-year-old singer and the 22-year-old British Topshop heiress were last seen together at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on January 26.
Marc, who has five-year-old twins Max and Emme with his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, began seeing Chloe shortly after splitting from model Shannon De Lima in January 2013.
