Michelle Keegan turned Mark Wright into drag queen for new show

Michelle Keegan talked Mark Wright into becoming a drag queen.
The 'Coronation Street' star - who plays barmaid Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap - persuaded her fiancé to dress up as a woman for his new reality TV show 'Party Wright Around the World'.
In the new series, the former 'The Only Way is Essex' hunk travels around the globe and attempts to organise wild parties for groups of friends.
However, in the opening episode, the 27-year-old star is knocked out of his comfort zone when he lands in Miami, Florida, and stays with two gay friends who try to get him to dress up for a cabaret show.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "I tried to get out of it. I spoke to the producer and someone at ITV. But they all wanted me to do it.
"So I said I wanted to speak to Michelle. I honestly thought she would tell me not to do it but she just laughed!
"I'm glad I did it. I had the biggest hair, the biggest lips. I looked like Lily Savage."
Despite admitting he enjoyed exploring his inner femininity, Mark insists he would never do it again.
He said: "Will I do it again? No way. That was a one-take wonder!"
'Party Wright Around the World' hits screens tomorrow (26.02.14) at 9pm on ITV2.

Piers Morgan to concentrate on Life Stories

Piers Morgan will concentrate on 'Life Stories' following the axe of his US talk show.
The 48-year-old journalist, whose CNN show 'Piers Morgan Live' was cancelled amid low ratings yesterday (24.02.14), is set to hammer out a new contract with ITV to continue fronting his British show.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper before CNN announced the end of his US show, Piers said: "I haven't signed up for more 'Life Stories' yet but I am sitting down with ITV in the next few months. My contract runs out in June but I have done all the shows under that existing contract.
"We will sit down and talk about the future. But I want to do more. I have got plenty of offers to do stuff but I have a good relationship with ITV and we are both keen to keep it going.
"As long as they are popular and people like watching them, we will keep doing them."
The former 'Britain's Got Talent' judge also says he hasn't ruled out a reunion with his former co-stars Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden on the talent show's judging panel.
He added: "I would never say never about going back to 'BGT'. I did ten series of 'BGT' and 'America's Got Talent', and that is a lot of judging. I did run out of things to say but I would like to work with Simon again."

Jack P. Shepherd doesn’t like new Corrie set

Jack P. Shepherd doesn't like the new 'Coronation Street' set.
The 26-year-old actor, who plays David Platt in the ITV soap, has revealed he is not a fan of the show's new state-of-the-art set in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester, because there are more stringent security protocols the cast and crew must adhere to.
Quizzed if he liked the new set, he said: "No, not really. It's little things like every single door you need to have your security pass with you. The set's exactly the same ... the street's slightly bigger but it's just cold there - it's like a wind tunnel around [Manchester's] Trafford Park."
The star recently welcomed his second child, son Reuben, with fiancée Lauren Shippley - with whom he also has a five-year-old daughter, Nyla - and the couple have been inundated with gifts from his 'Corrie' co-stars, including on-screen mum Helen Worth (Gail Platt).
He told Britain's OK! magazine: "Jane [Danson] got us a gift voucher for Mothercare and Helen bought him a coat and some jogging pants. Sally Dynevor got him some babygros and a shirt. They're all good to us."
However, Jack says his co-stars are more "colleagues" than friends and he doesn't usually interact with his castmates outside of work.
He explained: "I get on with everyone at 'Corrie' but they're colleagues. I'm not one of those people to call up and ask how people are, I don't text anyone to see how they are - even with my mates. I'm not a flaky friend, it's just a boy thing!"

Corrie stars spend thousands on decorating

The stars of 'Coronation Street' have spent thousands of pounds decorating their new dressing rooms.
The long-running ITV soap's cast were reportedly unhappy with the standard dressing rooms they were given upon moving to a much larger set in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester, and have lavished their private quarters with ornate items such as chintzy chairs and futons.
Soap veteran Barbara Knox - who has played Rita Tanner for over 40 years - has even put up wallpaper in her dressing room to give it the feel of her previous room.
The new dressing rooms were originally furnished with basic items such as a wardrobe, chair and a mirror surrounded by lights.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Some of the cast are quite happy and have kept the rooms as they are but some of the bigger name stars have gone about changing theirs.
"Barbara wasn't prepared to keep hers as it was and embarked on a big refurbishment. She bought in her own wallpaper, which 'Corrie' staff have put up, as well as a nice chair in order to re-create the feel of the room she had at the old studios.
"She spends a lot of time in there so wanted it to be nice."
Meanwhile, a 'Corrie' insider says the soap's stars are able to make changes to their dressing rooms as they wish.
The source said: "Cast members can put their own stamp on their rooms."

Iggy Azalea won’t split for sake of sport

Iggy Azalea doesn't want to break-up with her boyfriend - because it would "ruin" basketball for her.
The 23-year-old Australian singer is in a relationship with Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young and she loves his "goofy" side.
She told the new issue of America's GQ magazine: "Nick's really goofy and funny. We don't really watch basketball in Australia. I always joke with him, 'I hope we don't break up, because you'd ruin basketball for me.' I really hope he doesn't ruin basketball for me."
Despite his own high-profile in the US, Nick, 28, admits he is usually overshadowed by his girlfriend when they go out together.
Asked who gets the most attention, he told the publication: "Iggy. Because of the way she dresses and her, uh, figure. It's hard to top that, ya know?"
Meanwhile, Iggy has unveiled the cover art for her forthcoming debut album, 'The New Classic', which will be released in April and followed shortly afterwards be a series of American gigs.
The 'Bounce' hitmaker also tweeted to advise European fans she will be "doing a lot of festivals throughout the summer".

Fan eyes collaboration with Kanye West after duet

A fan who duetted with Kanye West at his Connecticut concert hopes to work with the star.
Mike Ahern had been celebrating his 18th birthday at the rapper's gig in Uncasville, on Friday night (21.02.14) when Kanye prompted security guards to hand him the microphone to sing the last verse of 'Bound 2'.
While the young fan described the experience as "nerve-wracking" he hopes to receive a call from Kanye for a collaboration.
Mike told Toofab.com:"I got to sing the end of the song, which was really cool. You get lost in the moment, but you know all the words,
"If I could work for Kanye in any business or field, that would be incredible."
Mike insists he has no plans to sell the treasured microphone although other concert goers have been offering him cash in a desperate bid to get hold of the object, which will be displayed in his home.
He explained: "Maybe [I'd sell] if someone said, 'I'll give you $100 million' ... but realistically, I'm not interested in selling it."
Meanwhile, Kanye stepped out with his fiancee Kim Kardashian over the weekend, to celebrate after he successfully wrapped the American leg of his 'Yeezus' tour.
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star cheered on the 36-year-old rapper following his performance at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York.

Marion Cotillard doesn’t want ‘great’ actor son

Marion Cotillard doesn't want her son to be a "great" actor.
Though the 'Inception' star would have no problem with Marcel - her 21-month-old son with partner Guillaume Canet - following in her footsteps, she thinks the best actors have a "failure" or fault within them that allows them to do well, and she doesn't want him to have such problems.
She said: "An actor has a huge failure in him. And this is not a weakness - this can make you strong. But it's deep. Maybe failure is not the right word. Something deep inside which is broken.
"And most of the time I think if you don't have this, you're not a good actor.
"So it's kind of a struggle. I mean, if my son wants to be an actor, it's fine.To be a great actor, you must have this. And I don't want him to have it!"
The 38-year-old beauty admitted she has never asked her own parents - who were both actors - whether they had any concerns about her becoming an actress.
She told Interview magazine: "Ah, it's an amazing job, but my parents never told me anything about how hard the job would be. My parents were actors too. I don't even know if when I wanted to be an actress, they went, 'Oh s**t'. I must ask them."

Michael Jackson song used to launch mobile

Michael Jackson's unreleased music is being used to help launch a new smartphone.
The late King of Pop's track, 'Slave 2 The Rhythm', will be given away with the new Sony Xperia Z2, which is set to rival Samsung's Galaxy S5 model.
Sony announced a tie-up with Michael's estate, allowing them to use his music to promote the release.
The track featured as part of a 90-second video shown at the launch at the world's biggest mobile trade fair in Barcelona, Spain, on Monday (24.02.14).
But fans were quick to point out that the 'Billie Jean' hitmaker's song has been around for some time and were left unimpressed and desperate to hear new music.
One Twitter user wrote: "Ooooohhhh the disappointment!!!! Why not just release a new album!!! You have the material too! @michaeljackson [sic]"
Another fan responded, posting: "Exactly!! I got the song back in 2010, I have 3 different versions of that song, hah! [sic]"
A version of the track, featuring 'Boyfriend' hitmaker Justin Bieber, appeared online last year, but Michael's estate had it removed from YouTube and other websites claiming it hadn't been authorised.
The song was also leaked online in 2010, a year after the 50-year-old singer died from "acute propofol intoxication".
In a statement, Michael's estate said: "The Estate of Michael Jackson and Epic Records are very excited about the partnership with Sony Mobile announced this morning [Monday] at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
"We are thrilled with the use of the new solo Michael Jackson recording, 'Slave 2 The Rhythm', which is featured in the 90 second online spot for the new Xperia Z2 phone."

Roger Daltrey working on Keith Moon biopic

The Who singer Roger Daltrey is working on a film based on the life of his late bandmate Keith Moon.
The 69-year-old musician has resurrected a script written many years ago by John Lahr - who was responsible for the 1978 biography of playwright Joe Orton - and is hoping to get the project in development soon.
Daltrey wanted Robert Downey Jr. wanted to play the hellraising drummer but currently has no idea who will bring his friend to life on screen.
He told the new issue of Q magazine: "I'm back on it, and I'm back to the very first draft of the script , which I've always loved and which was written by John Lahr. I don't know who is going to play Keith, but it has to become someone new. Twenty years ago I had Robert Downey Jr. lined up. I had the whole damn thing down, but the script was only 60 percent there, and all people wanted at the time was 'Carry On Keith'."
Moon died in 1978 at the age of 32 from an accidental overdose of clomethiazole pills, which he had been prescribed to help him beat effects of alcohol withdrawal.
Daltrey - who is set to perform a series of concerts with Pete Townshend this year for what is being billed as The Who's farewell tour - also admitted he often thinks about his other late bandmate, bassist John Entwistle, and misses his friend's humour.
However, the 'My Generation' singer does concede that Entwistle's death from a heart attack in 2002 aged 57 - one day before The Who's 2002 American tour was due to kick-off - was very "rock 'n' roll".
The bass guitarist passed away in a hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas after going to bed with stripper Alycen Rowse following a night out which had involved cocaine use.
Daltrey said: "John crops up in my thoughts all the time. I wish I'd recorded some of our conversations, because John would say very little but every 15 minutes there'd be one priceless comedy line. It was such a rock 'n' roll death, though, wasn't it? Two lines of coke and a bird in the Hard Rock! He was probably eating a hamburger as well, though where he was eating it from, who knows?"

Gary Barlow wants home movies for new video

Gary Barlow has asked fans to send him home movies to be shown in his latest music video.
The 43-year-old singer wants members of the public to submit films showing them overcoming adversity, which will appear in the new video for his track, 'Since I Saw You Last'.
According to The Sun newspaper, the song will be released in April and tells the story of Gary's struggle to become a successful solo artist after Take That split in the 1996.
The song will follow the singer's tracks 'Let Me Go' and 'Face to Face' from his first full solo album in 14 years, 'Since I Saw You Last', which has already been certified double platinum.
Gary and band mates - Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen - also have plans to release their seventh studio album later this year before kicking off their tour in 2015.
Meanwhile, former band mate Robbie Williams, 39, has hinted he will not rejoin Take That for another tour.
He said: "We did a great tour together and I'm so grateful for that. I made friends with people I'd been friends with but then had stopped being, so that re-connection was great."
Robbie initially left the band in 1995 while the remaining members completed their world tour.
They reunited as a four-piece in 2006 and were joined by Robbie in 2010 for their sixth studio album, 'Progress'.
