Winona Ryder wore $10 dress to Oscars

Winona Ryder once wore a $10 dress to the Oscars.
The 'Girl, Interrupted' star is an avid bargain hunter and lover of vintage clothes, and is also not afraid to recycle outfits she has previously worn to events.
She told Red magazine: "Most of my wardrobe is vintage and I've worn dresses to the Oscars that I got for $10.
"At Sean Penn's last Haiti gala I wore this vintage dress that I'd worn to a film premiere in 2005. I know that's kind of a no-no in the fashion world, but why wear something just once if you love it?"
The 42-year-old actress rose to fame in the mid 80s while she was still a teenager and had continuing success in her 20s, which she says made her 30s hard, as her young looks meant she didn't always get picked for the roles she wanted.
She added: "My early thirties were rough. I went through stuff that I would have gone through, and probably should have gone through much younger, but I had spent my twenties working. Even when I was the right age for older roles, people thought of me as being younger. It was tough because I'd had so much success in my early twenties."
In the same interview Winona also said she one day hopes to work with 'The Wire' writer David Simon.

Drake: Rihanna is a diamond

Drake thinks Rihanna is a "diamond in the sky".
The 'Take Care' rapper is rumoured to have rekindled his romance with the Bajan beauty - who he was first linked to in 2009 - after they were spotted partying in Paris earlier this week, and he compares her to the jewel she sings about in her hit 'Diamonds'.
A source told Hollywoodlife.com: "He wants her to be that diamond in the sky she sings about. He thinks she's beautiful, just like the words that come out of her mouth. He takes her and her work seriously.
"They're having fun and he likes where things are now. As long as she's smiling and happy, he's doing his job.
"They both know they could have anybody they want but they're choosing to deal with each other because they like one another and are on a high when they're together."
Drake has recently said he thinks of Rihanna as the "ultimate fantasy" and admitted he was upset when she broke off their budding relationship.
He said: "At the time it hurt, but she didn't mean to. I'll never put that on her. I was hurt because I slowly started to realise what it was. I guess I thought it was more."
As well as Drake getting close to Rihanna again, it has also been rumoured she has been back in touch with her bad boy ex Chris Brown, and they "haven't stopped" texting since her birthday on February 20.

Claudia Schiffer turned down £1m date

Claudia Schiffer once turned down a £1 million dinner date.
The German supermodel was offered the huge amount by an arab prince, but didn't take him up on it as she thought it was "strange".
Asked by talk show host Jonathan Ross what requests she had during her huge success in the 90s, she replied: "Loads of weird ones, but the strangest one was from an Arab prince.
"He asked if he could hire me for a dinner for a million pounds. I declined, and some other supermodel took it."
Claudia - who is married to film director Matthew Vaughn - declined to say which prince made her the offer. She also claimed she was a "loser" at school.
She said: "Everyone called me Duck because my bum stuck out and I walked kind of funny because my legs are a bit funny, and I was really tall. I didn't have any friends."
Although she's now used to being photographed for magazines and appearing in adverts in just her underwear, the model claims she is naturally shy.
She added: "I am just shy when there are lots of people. I'm OK when we're just one on one, or maybe four people. I'm a really, really shy person. Once I put the make-up on I'd go 'OK, I can cope'."

Prince Andrew dating Monika Jakisic

Prince Andrew is dating Monika Jakisic.
The British royal is said to be dating the Croatian beauty - an ex-girlfriend of George Clooney - after they were introduced by friends, celebrating his 54th birthday together last week a Cecconi's restaurant in London.
A source told UsMagazine.com: "They sat next to each other at an intimate table by the front of the restaurant and were cuddling up to each other. Andrew was making Monika laugh and kissing her hand."
The eyewitness added during the dinner "Monika gave him a birthday card and the server brought out a white birthday cake for dessert."
Days later they were spotted at The Arts Club in Mayfair, where Andrew wrapped his arms around Monika and kissed her.
Another source said: "It was obvious they are a couple, they looked like two lovebirds."
Andrew, the Duke of York, was previously married to Sarah Ferguson from 1986 to 1996, and they have two daughters, Princess Beatrice, 25, and Princess Eugenie, 23, together. Although they are no longer married, Andrew and Sarah maintain a good relationship and even holiday as a family with their daughters.
Monika, 33, first dated George in 2004 and they have had an on-off relationship since, and were said to be seeing each other again briefly last year after the 'Gravity' star's relationship with Stacy Keibler ended.

Shakira opens new school

Shakira has opened a new school for underprivileged children in Colombia.
The 'Can't Remember To Forget You' singer went back to her home country to open the new facility on Monday (24.02.14), which has been funded by her Pies Descalzos charity.
She told Billboard.com: "This is part of my advocacy: Promote access to universal education.
"I want to demonstrate through the Pies Descalzos model how we can change the lives, not only of the children who come to school, but also their families. Entire communities can be transformed when you have a school that functions properly."
The school, located in Cartagena, will educate 1,700 needy children ranging from toddlers to teenagers.
Shakira brought 13-month-old Milan, her son with soccer star Gerard Piqué, with her for his first visit to Columbia, and got him a passport while they were there.
Talking about her hopes for the students of the school, she added: "I'm so happy to see so many joyful faces in these students.
"They'll have the tools necessary to become good citizens, far from violence and drugs. We dream of the day in which there will be no child without an education in Colombia."

Scott Eastwood would have been a fireman

Scott Eastwood would have become a fireman if he wasn't an actor.
'The Perfect Wave' star says his famous father, Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, didn't actively encourage him to have a career on screen, and if he had chosen a different career path, he would have done another job which provides new challenges on a daily basis.
He told Man of the World magazine: "If I didn't do this, I'd be a fireman; something super-active that challenges you and is different every day.
"Some of my earliest memories are being on set with my dad. That was just work - busy people all over the place with no noticeable degree of difference between them. There wasn't some unusual quality called fame.
"Even when I eventually got camera time, I didn't get special treatment. If anything, my dad was harder on me. My father never pressured any of [his children] to go into the movie business. All he ever said was, 'Whatever you do, do your best at it.' "
While Scott, 27, is following in his father's footsteps, he is careful not to repeat him, and is reluctant to star as a cowboy, as Clint became famous for portraying in the 60s.
He added: "I could've done a western years ago. I read a ton of scripts. The reality is that the new westerns are s**t. I wanted to play against all that.
"There's more to me than acting. I don't let acting control me. I wouldn't know how to live an enjoyable life if I let it. F**k, it's just make believe."

Dappy charged with assault

Dappy has been charged with assault.
The N-Dubz singer and reality TV star has been charged over an alleged incident in the early hours of this morning (27.02.14) after a performance at Chicago's Nightclub in Essex, Southern England.
A police source said Dappy will face allegations of "assault by beating" under his real name, Costadinos Contostavlos.
The spokesperson added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He has been released on bail prior to his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on March 19."
The singer and rapper had earlier said he enjoyed his night at the club, writing on Twitter: "Had a great night in Chicagos. Crowd was amazing."
A source close to the 26-year-old star - who was recently a runner-up on 'Celebrity Big Brother' - denied he was responsible for the altercation.
The friend said: "He acted in complete self defence."
In December 2008 Dappy pleaded guilty to two accounts of assault after reportedly spitting in a girl's face during a night out.
In 2013 he was also convicted of affray and assault by beating over a fight on a petrol station forecourt, for which he received a six-month sentence, suspended for 18 months as well as being ordered to do 150 hours community service and pay £4,500 compensation and £2,000 in costs.
Outside of court after receiving the charges he told the BBC: "I thought it was the end. Everything I'd worked so hard for all these years. I can't lie, I dropped a tear in that dock."

Sarah Jessica Parker: Marriage deserves effort

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick think their marriage "deserves effort".
The couple - who have children James, 11, and twins Marion and Tabitha, four - have been wed for 16 years and the actress thinks the secret to their lengthy union lies in something Gwyneth Paltrow's late father Bruce once said.
Asked the secret to a happy marriage, she said: "I'm almost scared to tell you but someone asked how he stayed married all these years and he said, 'We never wanted to get divorced at the same time.' Now everyone will think there was a period at which we did want to get divorced.
"But you stay married because you want to be there, despite everything. I don't know, it seems like it's just as deserving of effort as anything else is, certainly a career. I guess we both want to be in it."
The former 'Sex and the City' actress also admitted she won't look herself up online because she hates the "random cruelty" of people's comments.
Speaking to Britain's Harper's Bazaar magazine:"I don't Google myself. Good God, no! I have absolutely no constitution for that. I'm curious about everything, except what people have to say about me. It's the random cruelty I really don't understand. It's not good for us. I don't know, you know, how we go back in time to a better place."

Kylie Minogue thinks Justin needs to be careful

Kylie Minogue thinks Justin Bieber needs to "be careful who he rants to".
The 'Into The Blue' singer knows what its like to cope with fame from a young age and thinks the 19-year-old star - whose recent antics include being arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and allegedly assaulting a limo driver - needs to value those around him.
Kylie told MTV: "I would say be careful who you have a rant to, value the opinions of people that you respect, maybe not just the people you like, but actually people you respect.
"But it's tough being young and growing up and to do under a microscope, I challenge anyone to be beyond fault or you know to get it right. It's like a child with learning about the hot tap, you almost have to have your fingers burnt sometimes to know what works for you."
Kylie wasn't too hard on the 'Boyfriend' singer and thinks his wild antics are just a phase.
She said: "I'm not about to preach or give the answer, because hey, I went through it too, it's just called growing up."
The star was also quizzed about controversial singer Miley Cyrus, and though she doesn't have a problem with the 'Wrecking Ball' star's raunchy 'twerking' dance moves, she won't be copying her anytime soon.
She said: "Um, it's not for me, I don't think I could carry it off, I think I'd be seen as an absolute impostor...
"But, you know it's a different generation, and as I said with Justin you know, we're all different, we're all individuals, so I just support individuality. End of story."

Lady Gaga refused performance in Dorito machine

Lady Gaga has been refused a permit to perform in a giant vending machine.
The 'Do What You Want' hitmaker was hoping to entertain fans at the annual South by Southwest festival (SXSW) held in Austin, Texas between March 7 - 16 on the Doritos Stage, which has been designed to look like a huge snack machine, but due to concerns over health and safety she's had to reconsider.
According to Stereogum.com, Don Pitts of Austin's Music And Entertainment division said: "Our conclusion was based primarily on public safety concerns ... We look at the size and capacity of the location covered by the permit being sought and how it fits with the anticipated attendance, based on event capacity and promotion. At the end of the day, it's a parking lot."
Gaga - real name Stefani Germanotta - is still set to play at the nine-day festival but has been urged to find a location with "the necessary permanent infrastructure" to support her performance.
This isn't the first time Gaga's creative plans have gone wrong in recent weeks.
Earlier this month the 27-year-old singer was working on the video for 'G.U.Y. (Girl Under You)' and was bitten by a slow loris while filming a clip in California when the cute creature - a small primate from Asia, which is an endangered species - sunk its teeth into her.
A source previously said: "The slow loris is the cutest creature on the planet, and Lady Gaga wanted to use it in one scene, but it nipped her. They put it back in its box and took it away in disgrace."

Emmy Rossum finds screen stripping easy

Emmy Rossum finds it "very easy" to strip on screen.
The 'Shameless' actress insists she doesn't worry about bearing all on camera because she immerses herself so deeply in her characters, she doesn't feel like herself.
She said: "Being naked in character is very easy because it's just playing pretend. You're someone else. You don't feel like yourself."
The 27-year-old actress doesn't even worry about doing extra workouts to look better on camera if she has a nude scene coming up.
Asked if she prepares for the scenes, she told E! News: "Not at all. You got to be in character. You can't think about cellulite."
Emmy enjoys playing Fiona Gallagher in 'Shameless' but admits she struggles to shake off the difficult storylines at the end of the day.
She said: "It's getting real dark. Not much funny happening this year...I can't leave it at work. I mean, I try to kind of shrug it off and shake it off in the car ride home, but it's never that easy."
The brunette beauty is planning on getting glammed up on Oscars night on Sunday (02.03.14), but not until late in the evening.
She said: "I'll eat, watch it in my pyjamas and then go to Vanity Fair [party]. It's like the best of everything."

Perfect timing for Hulk Hogan’s WWE return, says DDP

Hulk Hogan's return to WWE is perfect timing, according Diamond Dallas Page.
Retired wrestler Dallas - who is the creator of exercise phenomenon DDP Yoga - was thrilled to see the iconic star back on TV show 'RAW' this week and insists with the 30th anniversary of 'WrestleMania' in April and the launch of the WWE Network streaming service everything is just right for The Hulkster's comeback after six years away.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Dallas said: "I think it's great that Hogan is back not only because the WWE Network is such an awesome thing but it also couldn't be better timing with 'WrestleMania XXX' round the corner."
Dallas - also known as DDP - is also very excited that his friend Jake 'The Snake' Roberts is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year
DDP has helped get alcoholic Jake - who was recently diagnosed with skin cancer - healthy and sober since inviting him to live at his home in October 2012 and he is hoping he gets to induct his former mentor at the ceremony at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on April 5
Dallas - who is bringing his one-man comedy show to the UK from this weekend as well as hosting two DDP Yoga workshops - said: "We're working hard to get Jake ready for the Hall of Fame, we want him to be in the best shape for it.
"I'd like it to be me who inducts Jake, I'd love to do it, that would be an honour but that remains to be seen, we're waiting to hear from the WWE because they control that. But really I don't care who inducts Jake. When Jake told me it was happening ... it was so emotional. I needed to decompress."
Hogan has announced he is the host of 'WrestleMania XXX' which takes place on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
Tickets for 'BANG!: An Audience With Diamond Dallas Page' are on sale now at Eroscomedy.com with shows in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Belfast and Cork.
