Duke and Duchess of Cambridge donate £5K to flood victims

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge donated £5,000 to the flood victims of Rhyl.
The royal couple, who used to live in Anglesey, gave the generous amount to the Rhyl Flood Appeal after 150 homes in Wales were destroyed during the battering storms in December.
The mayor of Rhyl, Andrew Rutherford, said he was "gobsmacked" to receive the private donation from William and Catherine.
He said a letter sent on behalf of the pair read: "The Duke and Duchess realise that it is a long, slow and painful process for the many people displaced from their homes and as a token of their support, and to show the people of Rhyl that they are in their thoughts, Their Royal Highnesses would like to make a personal donation to your Rhyl Town Mayor's Flood Appeal."
Many families are still living in temporary accommodation while repairs are being carried out on their properties.
At the time, Andrew said other families, who initially thought they had escaped the floods, had since discovered the sea water had damaged the building foundations.
He said in December: "All the water that has gone over has actually gone under their houses and they have had to have their foundations taken up.
"A couple of them have had to move out so that they can have their footings replaced and floorboards done.
"So we are still getting snippets about people who are being affected, even now, so it's quite hard."

EastEnders’ Alice Branning to be found not guilty

'EastEnders' character Alice Branning will be found not guilty of murdering Michael Moon.
Alice, who is on trial for Michael's murder along with Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), will be declared innocent in Thursday's (20.03.14) episode of the BBC One soap.
In a preview clip posted on the 'EastEnders' website, Alice's uncle Max Branning (Jake Wood) and aunt Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) breathe a sigh of relief as the trial jury reveals one of its two verdicts.
However, it remains to be seen whether Janine will also be declared innocent, or face life imprisonment.
The judge asks the jury: "On the second charge of murder, do you find the defendant, Janine, guilty or not guilty?"
Alice - played by Jasmyn Banks - was wrongfully jailed for murdering Michael last October after coming to Janine's defence during a brutal domestic fight. While she did attack Michael, it was Janine who delivered the deadly blow to her husband.
Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) was recently called as a witness against Alice in the trial after striking a deal with Janine to give false testimony in exchange for Janine dropping charges against her cousin Stacey Branning (Lacey Turner), who she accused of stabbing her in 2010, resulting in Stacey fleeing the country.
Tuesday's (18.03.14) episode saw Kat attempt to maintain her end of the deal by testifying against Alice, but it's unclear if she will go through with the plan.

Cheryl Cole to perform on Britain’s Got Talent

Simon Cowell has asked Cheryl Cole to perform on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The 30-year-old popstar has been inundated with offers from various shows to make her musical comeback, but she is said to be considering a "tempting" offer from Simon, 54, as a perk stemming from her return to 'The X Factor' judging panel this year.
A source said: "Simon has offered her a very tempting spot on the show and it would be a massive draw for the series to land her first live performance in a couple of years."
Cheryl is keen to impress and she has been working hard on her fourth studio album, although she hasn't decided which song will be promoted on the show.
The source added: "Cheryl has been offered all major TV shows to perform her first single."
It's reported that if Cheryl's new single isn't ready in time for 'Britain's Got Talent', she will have first pick for a live performance slot when 'X Factor' returns later this year.
Meanwhile, the 'Call My Name' hitmaker is continuing to advise Simon Cowell on who should join them on the panel and is eager to hire a music industry professional.
Songwriter Amanda Ghost - who co-wrote James Blunt's 2004 hit 'You're Beautiful' - and Sia Furler, who has written songs for the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce and Katy Perry, are among the names being considered.
Cheryl also has her eye on Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie as they reportedly grew close when she supported the group on tour.

EastEnders casts disabled character

'EastEnders' is to introduce a new disabled character.
Former 'Grange Hill' actress Lisa Hammond will play tough market trader Donna Yates, who declares war on stall holders Bianca Butcher (Patsy Palmer) and Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), and the 31-year-old star is looking forward to playing a "bad" character.
She said: "I'm really excited to join 'EastEnders'. Donna is a bit of a handful but they are always the most fun characters - it feels good to be bad."
Donna wasn't originally written as a wheelchair-bound character, but Lisa - who has a restricted growth condition - won over producers with her audition, and show boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins is delighted to have her on board as the "flinty, aggressive and difficult" stall holder.
He added: "Donna's not an easy character to like at first. As we get to know her better, we will discover a funny, loyal but also fragile woman underneath.
"Lisa is a brilliantly comic and sharp actress. We have been trying to get her into the 'EastEnders' cast for a long time so I am delighted."
Donna is the second regular disabled character to appear on Albert Square, following Adam Best (David Proud), who appeared from 2009 to 2010.
Lisa began her career at the age of 13 and has also starred in 'Pyschoville', 'Bleak House' and 'Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere'.

Kelly Brook tipped for Celebrity Juice return

Kelly Brook is tipped to return to 'Celebrity Juice' when Holly Willoughby goes on maternity leave.
The 34-year-old model is being lined up to serve as a team captain on the ITV2 panel show once again when Holly, 33, takes a leave of absence to welcome her third child with husband Dan Baldwin later this year.
Kelly replaced Fearne Cotton on the ninth series of 'Celebrity Juice' while the star was on maternity leave after giving birth to son Rex in February 2013.
Speaking at the RTS Programme Awards in London last night (18.03.14), host Keith Lemon told BANG Showbiz: "Kelly did an amazing job, so it'll probably be Kelly, I expect.
"I've heard Kelly, but I don't know. I don't care [who it is]. It makes sense for Kelly 'cos she did a good job first time round."
Keith also revealed it was former Westlife star Kian Egan who first alerted him to Holly's pregnancy when they filmed last week's episode of the show.
He added: "Kian Egan, he said to me, 'Have Holly's boobs got bigger?' I said, 'I don't know ... what do you think I am, some kind of pervert? She's probably pregnant.' The next day she called me and said, 'I've got something to tell you.' I went, 'I know what you're going to say...'
"I said, 'Me and Kian Egan were talking about it. I'm really happy for you.' But if it were me I'd set myself on fire. Three kids? Good luck!"
Keith admits he would end 'Celebrity Juice' temporarily if both Fearne and Holly were to fall pregnant at the same time.
He said: "If Fearne got up the duff and they both left, I'd say, 'Let's have a break and start again when you both come back.' It's only 'Celebrity Juice' when the girls are there."

John Mayer sues dealer over fake Rolexes

John Mayer has sued a man for selling him fake Rolexes.
The 'Who You Love' singer spent a total of $5 million on what he believed to be a collection of authentic luxury watches from dealer Robert Maron - a friend of Charlie Sheen - back in 2007, but was shocked to find one of the timepieces was a replica when he sent it off for repairs three years later.
According to TMZ, Mayer returned the watch and was given credit to buy another but now wants a refund for $656,000 he spent on seven other watches which Rolex have told him are counterfeit.
Maron is a "watch dealer to the stars" and that's how he met and got close to Sheen, who has even used him as his manager and "media adviser".
Rolex is one of the world's most prestigious watch brands, with the coveted timepieces ranging anywhere from $5,000 with the most exclusive designs costing upwards of $500,000.
Mayer has been an long-time collector of the company's timepieces and previously revealed that his first "great watch" was a Rolex Explorer.
Speaking to Hodinkee.com on his love of the collecting the luxury wrist wear, he explained: "I think it's more than the feel and the weight of the cases. It has some other thing that makes you go, 'Wow', you know? That was sort of the beginning for me."

L’Wren Scott was planning to close LS Fashion

L'Wren Scott was planning to close her business this week, a friend has revealed.
The designer, who had been in a relationship with Sir Mick Jagger since 2001, was found hanged in an apparent suicide at her New York apartment on Monday (17.03.14), and her friend, American fashion journalist Cathy Horyn, said she was going to announce the end of LS Fashion today (19.03.14).
Cathy wrote in a piece titled 'Memories of a Friend, a Teacher and a Fighter', in the New York Times newspaper: "I sent her text on March 12, checking in. She didn't reply, but that wasn't unusual.
"I learned since her death that she was planning to close her business, with an announcement on Wednesday. Still, as painful as the decision must have been for her, I wouldn't draw any conclusions from it about her state of mind. Nor should any credence be given to reports of a breakup with Mick. It's rubbish."
Cathy is mourning the loss of the designer and she is devastated the world has lost a wonderful person, who she describes as a "vital, intelligent woman".
She explained: "She was with friends on Sunday night, and, yes, they were deeply concerned about her, but, no, they didn't think she would do something so desperate. Not L'Wren.
Her death is inexplicable to me, and it makes me angry, too. Angry because it's the loss of a vital, intelligent woman, and angry because, this once, I don't want her to be a mystery to me."

Charlie Sheen forcing Denise Richards to move out

Charlie Sheen has told his ex-wife Denise Richards to move out the mansion he owns.
The 'Anger Management' actor wants the actress, their two daughters, Sam, 10, and Lola, eight, and her little girl Eloise, two, to find somewhere else to live because he has a buyer who is ready to move in to the house in Beverley Hills, California.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Charlie's lawyers have advised Denise it's time to move out of the Mulholland Estates mansion.
"He has claimed to have a buyer for the home lined up. Charlie wants Denise and the girls out - right away. Put simply, he doesn't seem to care where Denise moves to."
The insider also claims the 48-year-old star's fiancée, porn star Brett Rossi, helped to persuade him to tell Denise and the girls to move out, arguing she no longer deserved the property since relations turned sour when Charlie claimed she stopped him seeing their daughters over the festive period.
A source said: "Brett convinced Charlie to sell the mansion, arguing that Denise has cut off access to their daughters, why should he allow her to live in the house for free?"
"Charlie hasn't spent any significant time with the girls in several months and thinks it's ridiculous that he continue to pay Denise $55,000."
Charlie had previously threatened to ask a judge to cut his monthly $55,000 child support payment to the 43-year-old actress, who he used to enjoy an amicable relationship with, and reportedly paid just over half that amount for January and hasn't paid anything since, according to TMZ.
The former 'Two and a Half Men' star, who was married to his second wife Denise from 2002 to 2006, bought the property for her back in 2011 so she and the kids would be close to him.
Another source claims it will be an inconvenience for Denise to be forced to move out of the luxury home because their daughters go to school nearby.
They said: "Sam and Lola's school is currently less than a five minute drive from the house they are living in now.
"It would be about an hour drive each way if Denise moved back to Hidden Hills to their school."

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West can sue over engagement footage

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's lawsuit over their leaked engagement footage can go ahead, a judge has ruled.
The couple were taking legal action against YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley for posting a 150-second video of the rapper's lavish proposal at San Francisco's AT&T Park stadium, but the tech entrepreneur had sought for the case to be dismissed on constitutional grounds, claiming it violated his rights to free speech.
He also argued he wasn't informed he wasn't allowed to film or distribute the footage but a judge ruled yesterday (18.03.14) that the word 'CONFIDENTIALITY' could be seen clearly on a document he signed when entering the stadium.
And Chad could also face fraud charges, website TMZ reports, as the judge agreed with Kim and Kanye's view that his "wrangling" over the case has been "improper".
The couple - who have nine-month-old daughter North together - are seeking unspecified damages against Chad and his company Avos Systems Inc for posting the blurry video on his new website MixBit.

Kylie Minogue inspired by grandma

Kylie Minogue is inspired by her 94-year-old grandmother.
The 'Wow' hitmaker loves a "challenge" and whenever she is in a tough situation, she tries to think about how her elderly relative would handle it.
She said: "I like a challenge. I don't want to give in until there is no other option; I'm pretty tenacious and determined.
"I always try to think of what my 94-year-old grandmother would do. I asked her just a few years ago, 'Nain, how do you do it? You're just so cool.' She had six kids, emigrated to Australia from Wales and is the great matriarch of the family. And she said, 'Well Kylie, you just go with the flow.' "
Kylie - who split from boyfriend Andres Velencoso last year after five years together - spent New Year's Eve (31.12.13) alone and says having chance to "reflect" helped her make peace with the past and she is doing her best to move forward with her life.
She told Stylist magazine: "It was very quiet, very peaceful and I reflected on the past year.
"Even though it was exciting and now I'm reaping the benefits, there was a lot in the last year that was just not so great.
"Dealing with sadness and trying to make peace with those things and think about moving forward... We can't just go backwards. It's our good fortune if we get to go forwards. It's very hard for me to describe, but there was an energy shift.
"It doesn't mean I'm not fraught, tired, stressed, excited, crazy, all the things that I was before, but there's a chain of thought that I didn't have before and I do now and I really hope I can hang on to it."

Joe Cornish to direct spy thriller Section 6

Joe Cornish will direct spy thriller 'Section 6'.
The writer-and-director behind the cult hit 'Attack of the Block' is set helm the upcoming Universal Studios project, which will feature rising star Jack O'Connell in a lead role.
The film - which is being eyed as the start of a new franchise - follows the formation of British intelligence agency MI6 during the First World War and will depict its first director, Sir George Mansfield Cummings.
Many A-list actors have expressed interested in playing Cummings, according to TheWrap, while O'Connell will play a "promising young" MI6 operative in the flick.
Cummings is widely recognised as the inspiration for M in the James Bond feature films.
Screenwriter Aaron Berg's script for 'Section 6' was at the centre of a ferocious studio bidding war last October, but Universal ultimately outbid Sony Pictures for the rights to the film.
Cornish has recently been linked to direct 'Star Trek 3', however, it's thought he has been selective about his next project and was more enticed by the prospect of launching a franchise with 'Section 6'.
The writer-director co-wrote Marvel's upcoming superhero action feature 'Ant-Man', which will be directed by Edgar Wright and star Paul Rudd.
Meanwhile, O'Connell is quickly becoming one of the hottest prospects in Hollywood since finding fame in British TV drama 'Skins'.
He has earned critical acclaim for independent Brit drama 'Starred Up' and will next be seen in Angelina Jolie's next directorial effort, 'Unbroken', for which he is already earning awards buzz.
