Paddy Wallace has promised a big twist in his ongoing ‘Coronation Street’ saga.
The actor plays Jude Appleton on the soap, and he has hinted at a lot more to come in the saga after his alter ego has disappeared without explanation, with mother Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) fearing for his life.
He told RSVP Live: "I can’t tell you anything about Jude’s final scenes, but I can confirm that you will see him again.
"It’s an interesting finale for me. Nothing is ever easy with Jude, it’s certainly not simple – that’s about as much as I can let slip, really."
Although he was asked if the twist in the story would be the last viewers would see of the character, Paddy kept his cards very close to his chest.
He teased: "Well, if I told you that then you’d know too much!"
Jude was last seen by ‘Corrie’ fans when Angie Appleton (Victoria Ekanoye) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) told him to pack his bags and leave the street.
He handed his baby son George to Roy at the tram station, and hasn’t been seen in Weatherfield since.
Paddy has remained coy about the future, meaning his alter ego’s future – and even whether he survives or gets killed off – remains a mystery.
However, the star did promise that "there’s some epic stuff coming" for ‘Corrie’ viewers over the busy Christmas period.
Although Paddy recently confirmed serial liar Jude will depart the cobbles, paving the way for Angie to move on, co-star Victoria wanted the couple to work out their troubles.
She previously said: "I would’ve loved Angie and Jude to work it out but I don’t know how you can repair that broken trust.
"There’s so many lies.
"I think there’s been moments where she’s proud of the fact that he’s trying to do the paramedic job.
"She’s wants so much for it to be him getting himself together for them being able to work stuff out and become this family she’s wanted for long."
