Paddy McGuinness is to front a new game show which people will take part in from their sofas.
The 45-year-old TV presenter has just filmed a pilot for the new ITV programme, ‘Home Win’, which will see the host appearing on the screens of four unsuspecting contestants as they settle down for the evening.
Paddy will then announce they are on a Skype link to the studio, and the family will undertake a general knowledge quiz to earn a huge cash prize.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "Paddy was thrilled to be handed another new pilot, it’s been a great year for him career-wise and, being a comedian, the idea of surprising people by just appearing out of nowhere in their home really appealed to him.
"The show has been a long time in the pipeline, but they’ve been waiting for the right host.
"The pilot show has been filmed and bosses are hoping it will get off the ground for a whole series."
Paddy has admitted that he himself is a fan of a night in, and says he would rather be home with his family than out partying.
He said: "I don’t have a showbizzy life. I’m always in, out and straight back home. In my job people think you’re out at every kind of party.
"I did all that years ago. I’m a lot more mellow now.
"I really like being at home, with the kids in bed, telly on, a takeaway – sometimes I’ll go salt and pepper ribs, sometimes a curry – with my shorts and T-shirt on. I like getting back to my bed."
