Olly Murs won’t do TV gig for ‘a long time’

Olly Murs doesn’t want to return to TV for "a long time."
The ‘Dear Darlin’ hitmaker has admitted he’s been put off taking on another television job following the backlash he received for presenting ‘The X Factor’ last year and is now determined to focus on his music until his career dries up.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I still love ‘The X Factor’ but it became more about the judges and presenters than about the job of finding talent.
"I can’t do both [music and TV] at the same time and I’m not going to stop doing music for a long time."
However, although he was ridiculed week-in week-out for his on-screen gaffes last year, the 31-year-old singer has agreed to return for the next series – but only as a show performer.
And his close bond with show boss Simon Cowell means he’s not planning to run off to rival programme ‘The Voice’, which recently moved to ITV from BBC, any time soon.
He said: "I wouldn’t do ‘The Voice’ at the moment, it would be too much for me. I think the only time I would get back into TV is if there was a new show or when I stop doing music."
Olly was hired alongside his friend Caroline Flack last year to front ‘The X Factor’ following the exit of Dermot O’Leary but they both announced they were quitting shortly after the final in December due to the amount of abuse they received online.
