Olly Murs has hit back at former Big Brother contestant Chanelle Hayes for criticising his role as a judge on ‘The Voice’.
Reality star Chanelle, 30, kicked off the Twitter spat when she slammed former ‘X Factor’ runner-up Olly’s judging credentials on the ITV talent show.
Channelle tweeted: "How is Olly Murs a judge on a talent show though?? One of the most annoying people on the planet, can’t even sing himself?? How is he so liked??????? (sic)"
The ‘Troublemaker’ hitmaker hit back with a dig at Chanelle’s celebrity status.
Olly, 33, tweeted: "Can someone please tell me who this lady is??! but honestly thanks for watching #TheVoiceUK we love your support. (sic)"
Chanelle hit back: "anytime Olly (sic)"
She then revealed that Olly’s fans had leapt to his defence and attacked her on social media, but she took it in her stride, and joked: "omg the Olly crew are out Sozzzzz not soz
"Wow people are really weird. #scaryobsessed (sic)"
Olly – who was appeared on ‘The X Factor’ in 2009 and went on to present ‘The Xtra Factor’ from 2011 until 2013 – has joined returning panellists Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am on the singing talent show, and has previously confessed he was "nervous" about taking on the role of judge.
He admitted: "You know, I practised at home. I put on last year’s show and sat with my back to it and spun around when I liked someone."
Chanelle appeared in reality show ‘Big Brother’ in 2007 and went on to attempt to launch a pop career. She was also a judge on VH1 UK show, ‘Wannabe’ which sought girls to star in a new girlband.
Olly recently revealed he once auditioned for ‘Big Brother’ but was rejected.
