Ollie Williams quits Love Island villa

Ollie Williams has quit ‘Love Island’ after just three days in the villa.
The 23-year-old contestant made the decision to leave the winter version of the ITV2 reality dating show, set in South Africa, after coming to the conclusion that he is still in love with his ex-girlfriend Laura Nofer, who he dated for 18 months before splitting from her last year.
A show source exclusively told The Sun Online: "The show made Ollie realise he wasn’t ready to be in another serious relationship and he still has really strong feelings for Laura.
"He felt it was only fair to leave the competition and sort his head out. He told producers as soon as he made up his mind."
Ollie had been coupled up with Scottish blonde Paige Turley – whose ex-boyfriend is singer/songwriter Lewis Capaldi – before deciding to quit the villa.
A ‘Love Island’ spokesperson confirmed his exit, saying: "Ollie has made the decision to leave the ‘Love Island’ villa."
His departure follows ITV being presented with a petition containing thousands of names calling for Ollie to be removed from the series due to his participation in big game hunts in Africa during which he killed a variety of animals including a water buffalo.
Ofcom also received more than 200 complaints about "trophy hunter" Ollie being included in the show.
A listing with Companies House states that Ollie – who claims to be the heir of the Lanhydrock estate in Cornwall – is the sole director of Cornish Sporting Agency, which gives its nature of the business as "hunting" and "trapping".
‘Love Island’ producers always insisted they had "no intention" of getting rid of Ollie because of his hunting past.
