Ollie Locke says sharing a surname with his fiance Gareth Locke was the "greatest hint" they would marry one day.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star got engaged to his long-term pal on Sunday (23.09.18) after 10 years of friendship, but admits it was only last year that the pair both "realised" they were meant to be together, and he has "never been happier".
He wrote on Instagram: "I have known him for 10 years, and at many of my most important life moments he was in the background. Earlier this year we realised that what we had both been looking for was standing in front of us all along, the greatest hint was probably that we already have the same surname! I have never been happier and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with someone who makes me smile like this every day! On Sunday I said yes Xx @garethplocke (sic)"
After Gareth popped the question to Ollie over the weekend, the pair had their engagement announced in The Times newspaper.
Under the Forthcoming Marriages section, the post read: "The engagement is announced between Oliver, son of Sarah and John Locke of Southampton, and Gareth, son of Margaret and David Locke of Suffolk."
Gareth admitted he had enjoyed his "best" summer ever with Ollie.
He wrote on Instagram: "To the best summer spending it with my boy @ollielockeworld , topped off by getting engaged to him (sic)"
Following their proposal, he wrote: "Feeling blessed he said yes! Love you @ollielockeworld (sic)"
Ollie has made no secret that he was on the lookout for love, and he took part in ‘Celebs Go Dating’ earlier this year. The pair are thought to have started seeing each other shortly after filming finished.
The reality star – who has dated Sam Faiers, Gabriella Ellis and Chloe Green – previously revealed he was bisexual, but in July 2016 he came out as gay.
Speaking about filming a ‘Made in Chelsea’ series, he said: "It’s the first time the viewers have seen me as gay instead of bi. I do say the words ‘I am a gay man.’ "
