Noel Gallagher has called out Russell Brand for being "middle-class" – despite him being a self-proclaimed man of the people.
The 49-year-old rock star was a guest on Russell’s return to live broadcasting with X Radio on Sunday (02.04.17) and Noel wasted little time in ridiculing his long-time friend, telling listeners the actor lives in a £7 million home overlooking the River Thames in London.
Noel said: "Russell has got the River Thames as his garden. This is how middle class he his."
Despite their friendship, Noel has previously mocked Russell’s political activism.
He previously said: "I love Russell but he don’t half talk out of his a**e sometimes.
"His fine, muscular, pert a**e. He does talk a load of s**t. I couldn’t see him overthrowing a table of drinks. Do you think he’s going to put himself in charge? Hmm, I wonder."
Russell has frequently called for a revolution in the UK – but his good friend has derided his efforts.
Speaking back in 2014, Noel explained: "I was out with him the other night and he says it with a straight face. ‘There is going to be a revolution.’ And I’m like, ‘F**king hell, mate, give us a shout when you’re going down The Mall with your pitchforks and that, I’ll come and serenade you with my loot before we eat the Queen’.
"He says, ‘Come on mate, back us’ and I’m like, ‘If you make me the Duke Of Manchester then I’m in’."
However, prior to the 2015 general election in the UK, Noel said Russell should stand for political office.
The former Oasis star explained: "He’s a good lad, Russell, and I love him dearly like a boyfriend. I think he should stand in the election, because it’s alright saying the words and all, but then you’re relying on other people to implement all this stuff you’re going on about."
