Noel Clarke feared mum was in fire

Noel Clarke feared his mother was caught up in the horrific Grenfell Tower blaze.
The ‘Adulthood’ film director rushed down to the scene in West London on Wednesday (14.06.17) after he heard a fire had ripped through the tower block – home to over 200 families – when a reportedly fridge exploded on the second floor because his mum lives "50 yards" away from the 27-storey apartment building.
Speaking to the Mail Online, he said: "My relatives live here, I grew up here, my films are set here, my friends live here, one of my friend’s nieces is still missing.
"I was on my way into town and I knew I had to come and help so I have been here carrying water inside the church. I’ve got clothes being delivered by a couple of labels and Pepsi are going to be sending drinks.
"The community support has been great. London has been affected by a lot in the past few weeks and the way people are coming together is amazing."
And it wasn’t the 41-year-old actor who rushed down to the scene to help as Jeremy Clarkson has raided his wardrobe and donated all the "clean clothes" he has.
Taking to his Facebook account on Thursday (15.06.17), the ‘Grand Tour’ presenter encouraged his fans to do the same as those who were caught up in the fire earlier this week have lost friends, family and their possessions.
He said: "Everything that was clean in my wardrobe has been donated. Please try and do the same thing."
So far, 17 people have been confirmed dead but that total is expected to rise as it’s believed those living on the top three floors of the tower block wouldn’t have survived.
And more than 50 people – a small number of those are in a critical condition – are in hospital.
