Nina Nesbitt ‘feels sorry’ for ‘nasty’ online trolls

Nina Nesbitt "feels sorry" for horrible online trolls with nothing better to do.

The ‘Selfies’ singer admitted she has had her fair share of abuse on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, but insisted it tables can be turned quickly if you have "a good comeback".

She told BANG Showbiz: "I’ve had a few trolls in my internet time. Sometimes if I’m in a bad mood I’ll reply sarcastically, other times I just think they want attention and I won’t reply.

"Generally when people are being horrible, they’re just being horrible because they want attention, I just feel sorry for people who spend their time sending online abuse to people who are doing what they love.

"I think everyone has got an opinion and that’s fine, and everyone can voice their opinion but someone is downright nasty about it there’s just not really any point getting involved it. Sometimes if you come back with a good comeback that can be good."

The 19-year-old songstress insisted while social media can be "positive", it can also mean people can forget "how to socialise in real life".

She said: "I think social media is double edged. It’s mostly positive but it can become a bit of an obsession for people.

"You can start to live your life through this fake persona that you’ve created online and it’s something that’s not really reality. The internet has become such an available thing now and everyone uses it.

"A few people, including myself sometimes, have actually forgotten how to socialise in real life and actually go out and talk to real people instead of just sitting with your phone and scroll through the internet. It can become a bit full on I think."
