Nicole Scherzinger may quit ‘The X Factor’.
The 39-year-old singer has sat on the panel for two consistent years after show boss Simon Cowell brought her back alongside Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh in 2016, but it looks like the burnette beauty is ready to walk away from her seat on the panel after the current series concludes because she wants to focus on her music career.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she teased: "If I don’t come back it’s not because I don’t love it. It’s because I’m a singer first. Every artist needs that time out to reflect. It’s hard. It can be lonely, I’m always on the road, always by myself."
However, although she hasn’t given up her seat for definite, Simon will have no trouble replacing her as he has admitted he’d love to have his friend Cheryl Tweedy back.
The 58-year-old music mogul brought the former Girls Aloud star back for a short stint as his guest during the Judges’ Houses round and is now keen to persuade her to rejoin the programme on a permanent basis for the series in 2018.
Asked whether Simon would have her back on the panel, he said: "We’ll consider it. Let’s wait till the end of the show… maybe [current judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne] don’t want come back [next year and there will be a space on the panel]. Let’s see what happens, I wouldn’t rule anything out."
And, although the 34-year-old beauty hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a return, the ‘Call My Name’ singer wants to spend some more time with her seven-month-old son Bear.
She explained: "I want to be with Bear a little bit longer. It has just been me and him and I’m just loving being a mother at the moment.
"I’ve got time – I’ve got that luxury lifestyle and some mothers don’t have that luxury and have to get back to work. I’m just taking it as I can but I do love the show."
