Nicole Kidman’s Oscar nominations get "more emotional every time".
The 49-year-old actress – who has Sunday, eight and Faith, six, with her husband Keith Urban – was honoured to receive a nod for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for playing Sue Brierley in ‘Lion’.
Speaking after the nominations were unveiled on Tuesday (24.01.17), she said: "My fourth! I can’t believe it. I have to say, it gets more emotional every time.
"I got a phone call and my husband and my kids were just like going, ‘Woo hoo!’ And then my six-year-old was going, ‘What does that mean?’ [And I was like,] ‘It’s just a really big deal.’"
And Nicole – who also has Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise – was thrilled to see the movie, which is based on the true story of Saroo Brierley, receive six nominations including one for Best Picture and a Best Actor in a Supporting Role nod for Dev Patel.
She told The TODAY Show: "People respond with such emotional depth to it and there’s a personal depth to it that is … I haven’t had that for so long. I’ve done so many films but I haven’t really had this [feeling]."
Meanwhile, Nicole previously admitted she was very "maternal" to Dev on the set of ‘Lion’.
She explained: "I was maternal to him. I was pretty much in character playing the role … I really just related to him as a mother. I would go up to him and stroke his hair and touch his face and hold his hand. He gave permission for that, which was terrific …
"I also think now you’ll see Dev as a leading man, not as an Indian man or anything other than a leading man. I look forward to his journey into all of that now."
