Nicolas Cage wants to make a Blumhouse Productions horror movie.
Jason Blum’s studio – which has made low-budget, well-received thrillers like ‘Get Out’, ‘Insidious’ and ‘The Purge’ – would love to bring the 54-year-old actor on board for a future film, and he’s more than up for the challenge.
Asked if there’d been contact between both parties, he told Forbes’ Simon Thompson: "No but, well, why not? He’s certainly touched a nerve, and he’s having great success.
"I work with anyone who is enthusiastic and has an understanding of what they’d like to do with whatever my instrument can offer them. I certainly would not hesitate. I think what he’s doing is a great concept and the results back that up."
In a separate interview with Forbes, Blum was told about Cage’s desire to work with his company, and suggested he would be delighted to figure out a collaboration between the pair.
He said: "I had no idea that Nicolas Cage wants to work with Blumhouse, I’m a huge fan of his, and I love that he’s a huge fan of ours. Seriously, I’d love to have him in a Blumhouse movie; he’d be great."
Blum, 49, even suggested a potential role for the star, and revealed he would be looking into the possibility of making it a reality.
He added: "I see him as perhaps a very concerned father of a teenage boy who has had something terrible happen to them. It would be amazing. I’m going to have to figure that out."
