Cheryl Cole has enlisted Nicola Roberts to write her a hit song.
The ‘X Factor’ judge hit the studio with her best pal and former Girls Aloud band mate over the weekend in the hopes of recording a chart-topping song to rival her ‘Call My Name’ collaboration with Calvin Harris.
The 30-year-old star wrote on Twitter: "@NicolaRoberts is like a little volcano just bubbling away waiting to erupt with hits! #watchthisspace #mygirl #soproud she’s got me like (crying face)."
Meanwhile, Nicola revealed the experience had been an emotional one because of how close the pair are and hinted she has written some heartfelt songs about Cheryl’s personal life for her fourth album.
The ‘Beat of My Drum’ hitmaker posted: "I have loved writing for Cheryl! So much fun! Sometimes a heavy heart has come, being a best friend & writing from that perspective for her. (sic)"
She added: "Can’t wait for you to hear her new music."
This will be Cheryl’s newest material since she split from her long-term boyfriend Tre Holloway last October, after struggling to maintain a long-distance relationship, although the pair are reportedly still friends.
The singer is famously unlucky in love and was left heartbroken after her divorce to soccer star Ashley Cole in 2010 after he cheated on her.
