Nick Oliveri will perform with Queens of the Stone Age later this month.
The 42-year-old bassist – who was fired from the band in 2004 – is supporting his old group at The Forum in Los Angeles on October 31 and his former bandmate, singer Josh Homme, has asked him to join them for the encore.
Nick said: "Josh asked me to do six songs with Queens, like an encore set. A reunion, but not a reunion.
"I’m going to get up and play some bass and sing some songs at the end of the show. It should be interesting."
The rocker admitted he has been keen to play with the ‘Feel Good Hit of the Summer’ rockers many times since his departure and suggested he would like to do so again in the future.
Asked if he will play more shows with the band, he told NME magazine: "That’s pretty much up to Josh. It’s his band.
"I put myself out there a few times in the past 10 years. I’d go and see them play and say, ‘Hey man, I’m here! Do you want me to sing a song?’
"I stopped asking after a while and then he asked me.
"It’s not up to me, is what I’m saying."
