Nick Jonas is to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 23-year-old singer will team up with Ty Dolla $ign to sing his song ‘Bacon’ at the upcoming ceremony, which will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 28, despite admitting he was "disappointed" to have been snubbed for a nomination.
Nick recently shared his sadness on Twitter that his racy video for ‘Close’ – which features himself and Tove Lo getting up close and personal – hadn’t been given a nod for this year’s VMAs.
He tweeted: "Disappointed with the fact close got no love for the #VMAs2016 (sic)"
The former Jonas Brothers star later added that he was not going to let the lack of a nomination get to him as there are so many "amazing" things going on in his life and insisted he was going to start "caring less" about little things.
He added: "Actually thinking after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 0 boxes are checked … Won’t let this one thing get to me. I’m feeling so inspired and grateful these days. Gonna focus more on caring less about the small stuff. (sic)"
It will be the first time Nick has sang at the main ceremony as a solo artist after performing ‘Levels’ during the pre-show in 2015.
Britney Spears is also due to perform at the ceremony after revealing the news in a new Instagram video.
The teaser showed some iconic Britney items, including her red ‘Oops I Did It Again’ catsuit, the snake she carried on her shoulders during her 2001 performance of ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’ and the wedding dress she wore to perform in 2003.
A voiceover from the star stated: "The VMAs don’t just give you a stage. They give you a story – some way of taking a fraction of a second and making it live forever. Before you know it, it’s history. Before you know it, it’s Britney, bitch!"
