Nick Jonas is "disappointed" he didn’t get an MTV Video Music Award nomination.
The 23-year-old pop star has shared with his 10.7 million Twitter followers how surprised he is that his racy video for ‘Close’ – which features himself and Tove Lo getting up close and personal – didn’t get a nod at this year’s prestigious ceremony.
Taking to his account, he wrote: "Disappointed with the fact close got no love for the #VMAs2016 (sic)"
The former Jonas Brothers star later added that he was not going to let the lack of a nomination get to him as there are so many "amazing" things going on in his life.
And he’s going to start "caring less" about little things like the MTV Video Music Awards.
He added: "Actually thinking after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 0 boxes are checked … Won’t let this one thing get to me. I’m feeling so inspired and grateful these days. Gonna focus more on caring less about the small stuff. (sic)"
Meanwhile, the ‘Jealous’ hitmaker’s sibling Joe Jonas’ band DNCE received a nomination for Best New Artist and Nick is yet to publicaly congratulate the ‘Cake By The Ocean’ hitmaker.
They will go head-to-head with Bryson Tiller, Desiigner, Lukas Graham and Zara Larsson.
Taking to their Twitter page to react to their nod, DNCE – also comprised of Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee and Cole Whittle – wrote: "BEST NEW ARTIST THAN U THANK U THANK YOU ALL LET’S TAKE THIS ALL THE WAY HOME #VMAs (sic)"
The winners will be revealed at a star-studded ceremony at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York on August 28.
