Nick Grimshaw is thrilled he’s quit ‘The X Factor’ – because he can now slob on the sofa and scoff curry at the weekend.
The 31-year-old presenter shocked the nation when he announced he’s decided to step down as a judge on the talent show after just one series but he has admitted, although he loved his gig, he’s looking forward to having Saturday nights off so he can chow down a tasty takeaway.
He explained: "I did love it and it’s not a diss to the show. It’s a great show and I loved it. But it’s definitely a once in a lifetime style thing. You can’t have a curry when you’re on it on a Saturday night, because you’re there."
The radio host even went on to joke he only agreed to join the panel as a judge last year because big boss Simon Cowell promised he could tuck into a cheeky curry beforehand.
Speaking on his Radio 1 Breakfast show this morning (19.02.16), he quipped: "What’s really good about ‘The X Factor’ is watching it at your house with your friends [and] having a curry. When you’re there, there’s no curry."
Meanwhile, Simon has reportedly decided One Direction hunk Louis Tomlinson, who was the music mogul’s guest judge last year, will take Nick’s place on the panel when the show returns to screens later this year, although former panellist Louis Walsh, who was dropped in 2014 after 11 years on the programme, is also rumoured to return.
