Bonnie Anderson isn’t leaving ‘Neighbours’.
The 25-year-old actress – who has played Bea Nilsson on the Australian soap since 2018 – has responded to speculation she is set to quit the show after she didn’t join the rest of the cast for a Christmas photo.
However, replying to a fan question on Instagram, she wrote: "Everyone thinks I’m leaving the show. I’ve had heaps of people message me, ‘Are you leaving?’.
"I’m not leaving the show. I think what has made people question it is because I wasn’t there on the Christmas Day shoot [for] the photo.
"I wasn’t there… I was doing music that week, so I wasn’t able to come in to work. I just had the day off, and it was the day that we were all doing the shoot. (sic)"
Bonnie – who rose to fame when she won ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ in 2007 aged 12 – reiterated that she’s still under contract as she teased "plenty of stuff" coming up for her character.
She continued: "So I’m not leaving. I’m here, I’m still contracted. Beatrix has still got plenty of stuff to get up to!"
At the moment, her alter ego is caught up in a love triangle with her partner Finn Kelly (Rob Mills) having secret feelings for her sister Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta).
However, Bonnie has previously admitted how tough it can be to juggle her music and soap careers.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I never sleep, you know … no, not really, but it is crazy and that’s how I like to live my life.
"I’m a bit of a jack-in-the-box. My whole life I’ve been gigging and singing, and travelling and all of that stuff.
"It’s been really nice to be able to separate the two and do the show.
"We do long hours on the show, it’s very, very long. But you just have to make it work. You go home and you just keep working."
