Natalie J. Robb doesn’t "have time" for a relationship.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star admitted she is a world away from her soap character Moira Dingle – who is married to Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and having an affair with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) – and is "quite a happy single person".
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I don’t have time for romance. I am still single. But I am quite a happy single person. You accept yourself.
"Statistics prove that you are a lot happier and healthier now if you are single, because you don’t have to compromise.
"You are in control. You get pickier when you get older, you know what you don’t want."
The 44-year-old actress admitted that while she does get a lot of attention from admirers, some of it can be unwelcome because she can’t always tell whether someone is interested in her or her characters.
She added: "In this industry it is very difficult to know if people want you to be you. I play characters but it is not real – I have come across it and it is a bit frightening. I have had some creepy moments and it did put me off."
Natalie recently admitted she was very nervous filming a huge underwater stunt on set as her character is left fighting for her life following a clash with Cain and Nate.
She said: "I am not going to lie, Jeff and I were apprehensive ahead of filming underwater. But we did a lot of training in a swimming pool, getting used to the diving regulators and what we needed to do.
"We both had buddies, divers who stay with you to make sure you always have access to air. They were so reassuring and gave us confidence.
"When you’re doing it for real the adrenaline builds, and actually I got quite nervous but needed to stay calm.
"That’s the trick, staying calm underwater and not to panic. The tank we filmed in was quite deep, really dark and murky and dressed with reeds and rocks."
