Naomie Harris’ Oscar nerves

Naomie Harris is terrified at the thought of winning an Oscar.
The 40-year-old actress is up for Best Supporting Actress at the upcoming Academy Awards but is incredibly nervous at the prospect of having to get up on stage and address hundreds of people if she does win the accolade.
She said: "I don’t get that nervous with red carpets any more. I used to get very nervous.
"Public speaking is the next hurdle I have to overcome. If I won the Oscar, I’d be so nervous that I’d be quaking in my boots."
The ‘Moonlight’ actress was always worried about becoming famous and losing her anonymity but now she’s a household name, she’s found things are not as bad as she feared.
She said: "I do get recognised more, but it’s not as bad as I initially feared. I was always scared of losing my anonymity, but people just say really positive things, which is nice."
In ‘Moonlight’, Naomie plays a drug-addicted mother and she admits the role goes against everything she always vowed in her career, but she fell in love with the script and instantly changed her mind.
She admitted to Woman magazine: "I always said, ‘I won’t play a drug addict, I won’t play a prostitiute’. I had all these rules. And then along comes ‘Moonlight’ and it’s this incredible script … I cried three or four times, it’s so moving.
"It’s been tough because I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and I have no experience of addiction, so I was like, ‘How the hell am I going to find this woman?’ The only research I did was watching all these amazing clips and interviews with drug addicts on YouTube."
