Nadiya Hussain lands two new shows on BBC

Nadiya Hussain is fronting two new cookery shows for the BBC.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ champion – who won the TV baking competition in 2015 before its move to Channel 4 two years later – will be travelling to North America as part of a new BBC One show.
Opening up on ‘Nadiya’s American Melting Pot’ – which will air as two hour-long episodes – she said: "I love meeting people who are as passionate as I am about sharing the food of their homelands.
"I learnt so much about the amazing ways that cultures mix in America to create exciting twists on delicious local delicacies. I can’t wait to share my American adventure!"
During the special shows, the 35-year-old star will go from Los Angeles to San Francisco looking at Latin, Asian and Middle Eastern food, before moving onto New Orleans to meet people keeping the Creole traditions alive.
Beejal Patel, Commissioning Editor, added: "Nadiya is such a treat to travel with. In her latest journey she meets fascinating people discovering how food connects cultures in the culinary melting pot of America whilst rolling up her sleeves and creating delicious dishes with a unique Nadiya twist."
Writer and chef will also return to her roots with a six-part BBC Two series ‘Nadiya Bakes’ – followed by an hour-long summer special – as she looks into different delicious treats from around the UK.
She said: "Nothing makes me happier than baking. I’m so excited to share new recipes and learn from other passionate bakers along the way in my newest series for BBC Two."
Ricky Cooper – Commissioning Editor, Factual – added: "To have Nadiya baking again feels like a massive treat for viewers. I can’t wait to see what mouth-watering collection of cakes, biscuits, pies and pastries she’ll be rustling up for herself, and for the people she meets all across the UK."
