Nadia Sawalha once tried to eat her duvet out of hunger.
The ‘Loose Woman’ panellist, who openly battles with compulsive eating disorder, has admitted she was so peckish while she was on the Atkins diet – a low-carbohydrate eating plan – that she tried to munch her covers in her sleep.
She explained: "Once when I went on the Atkins diet, I woke up in the middle of the night and I was trying to eat my duvet because I was dreaming it was a naan bread."
The 51-year-old star, who has been a member of Overeaters Anonymous for eleven years, believes she has piled on the pounds over the years through her extreme yo-yo dieting.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I don’t believe in diets in how we have come to understand them, which is that you go on them and then come off. I dieted my way to obesity.
"I would go on a diet, lose the weight, put it back on and then a little bit extra for a little bit of fun. It was insane."
Meanwhile, Nadia opened up about her battle with the bulge earlier this month when she revealed she’s a binge eater.
The curly-haired beauty even admitted her obsession with food was so bad that she used to consider swiping rotten pieces of leftovers out of the bin some nights after dinner.
She said recently: "I used to scrape things into the rubbish and then pour washing up liquid over it so I couldn’t eat it."
