Nadia Sawalha cooks an extra Christmas turkey just for leftovers.
The ‘Loose Women’ star – who has daughters Maddie, who turns 17 on Christmas Day (25.12.19), and Kiki-Bee, 12, with husband Mark Adderly – loves to tuck into her favourite treats over the festive season so always makes sure there’s plenty of food on hand for anyone not feeling stuffed.
She said: "We eat lunch about 4pm [on Christmas Day], which I cook. After, we play board games and charades, watch movies, gorge on cheese and birthday cake.
"I always make an extra turkey crown for sandwiches.
"We eat throughout the evening – turkey or crisp sandwiches, hot mince pies and cream."
And for their festive breakfast, the family don’t enjoy a conventional meal.
Nadia explained to Closer magazine "We open our gifts when we get up. I don’t believe in this waiting for presents nonsense.
"For Christmas breakfast, the girls have spaghetti and chocolate sauce sprinkles – like the scene from ‘Elf’.
"I’ll have homemade sausage rolls with cold cheese."
While some people have a social media break over the festive season, the 55-year-old presenter does the opposite and even shares a live vlog on Christmas Day.
She admitted: "Some people take a break from social media over the holidays, but we do a live vlog on Christmas Day for people who have followed us all year or who might be on their own at Christmas."
Nadia and her husband also make sure they take the time to recognise it is also Maddie’s birthday on Christmas Day.
She said: "She’s 17 this year and we make sure to give her Christmas and birthday cards and gifts.
"Mark and I tend to exchange presents quietly later on."
