Prince in talks for surprise Glasto set

Prince is reportedly in talks to play a surprise set at Glastonbury festival this week.
The 'Raspberry Beret' hitmaker, who was rumoured to be headlining the event at Worthy Farm, was ruled out after Metallica, Kasabian and Arcade Fire were announced but sources claim he still wants to surprise festival-goers at the event in Somerset.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Prince wants to show up somewhere as a surprise. He has spent so much time in the UK lately, he'd love to do an impromptu set."
Organiser Michael Eavis and daughter Emily previously said Prince would not be playing the festival this year but they still hope to book him in the future.
The 56-year-old musician, who was bookies' favourite the headline, has been touring the country for the past couple of months with his all-girl female rock band 3RDEYEGIRL.
Meanwhile, Metallica were reportedly in talks to cover a track by the 'Purple Rain' singer but frontman James Hetfield was against the idea.
The source added: "There was the suggestion of them covering Prince, reminiscent of when Jay Z came on to Wonderwall [by Oasis], but it got a firm, 'No', mostly from singer James Hetfield."
EE has installed a bespoke 4G network and card readers for contactless payments at the event this year and the 'Highspeed Herd' will bring festival-goers superfast WiFi. The cows were painted by legendary bin painter, Hank, who has decorated thousands of colourful bins for the festival since the '80s.

Example trolled about voice on Twitter

Example gets abuse about his voice on Twitter.
The 'Kickstarts' hitmaker's upcoming fifth album 'Live Life Living' has cemented his transition from rapping to singing, and despite receiving criticism about his vocal prowess on the social network, the musician feels confident about his ability to convey emotion in his voice.
He told Digital Spy: "I think there's some people who don't like my voice and that's fine and the reason they don't like it is probably because of the sound of it.
"I often get tweets going, 'You can't sing, you're f**king awful' but then I get hundreds of tweets a day saying, 'I love Example's voice - it's so unique and gravelly and has so much emotion in it'. I don't think there's been anyone in history where everybody loves their voice."
Example denied having a course of singing lessons and feels like his music actually benefits from his lack of vocal training.
He explained: "I had one singing lesson and it was mainly to learn how to warm up my voice. I said shall I come back for more lessons and she said, 'Well you've got such a unique sound to your voice I don't think I can teach you to sing'.
"I think if you start to learn to sing in the traditional sense you lose all the character in your voice."
The star is relieved marrying model Erin McNaught helped him give up his party lifestyle because he was becoming a "self-destructive" person.
He reflected: "I mean there were some amazing, fun moments, you know? Like just being able to do whatever you wanted when you wanted, but it was very self-destructive and I didn't really like me as a person.
"I didn't really like who I was and a lot of my friends didn't like me, my ex-girlfriend didn't like me and my family didn't really like me back then in like 2010. I'm in a much better place now."

Lana Del Rey is inspired by Courtney Love

Lana Del Rey is inspired by Courtney Love.
The 'Summertime Sadness' hitmaker has always looked up to the Hole frontwoman and rock 'n' roll legend, so feels proud to count her among her friends these days.
She said: "Courtney Love's a big inspiration. I like her, I talk to her a lot. I just went her show ... when she was playing in London. I like people who are similar to her, like Joni Mitchell types or Stevie Nicks, who are both strong female characters."
The 27-year-old star was strongly influenced by jazz legends Nina Simone and Billie Holliday on her second album 'Ultraviolence', and hopes she has done their musical legacy justice.
Speaking on France Inter radio station's 'Laura Leishman Project' show, she said: "It has a Pacific coast feel to me, I think it's guitar driven, there are references to Nina Simone. That's why I ended the track listing with a cover of 'The Other Woman'. I am inspired by early jazz culture. It's a West coast jazz fusion with a little bit of East coast fever."

The Saturdays work harder for partners

The Saturdays "sex up" their dance routines when their partners attend shows.
Mollie King has revealed her loved-up bandmates - including Rochelle Humes, Frankie Sandford, Una Foden and Vanessa White - will be going all out to impress their boyfriends and husbands when they embark on their greatest hits tour in September.
She said: "It's funny when everyone's husbands and boyfriends are in, everyone tries to sex it up. So if Wayne [Bridge, Frankie's soccer star fiance] comes down I'll look over at Frankie and she's giving it extra large and I'm like, 'I saw you.' "
The 'What About Us' hitmakers will also be travelling with a full entourage as Frankie and Rochelle will bring their children on tour with them.
Rochelle, who has 12-month-old daughter Alaia-Mai with husband Marvin Humes, said: "There will be a lot of juggling. I'm not being without Alaia-Mai."
However, Una will leave her two-year-old daughter Aoife Belle - whom she has with rugby player husband Ben Foden - at home as she is due to start pre-school.
The red-haired star told Britain's OK magazine: "Aoife will be starting nursery so I'll pop back to see her."

Adele finished recording third album

Adele has finished work on her third album.
The 'Skyfall' singer has been busy in the studio, and fans won't have to wait long for her much-anticipated new record with reports it has been completed and is ready for release.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "The album is written, recorded and finished. Theoretically it could be released tomorrow if she wanted."
It is said Adele and her label are considering bringing out the album with little fanfare and no "publicity campaign", in a similar way to how Beyonce released her self-titled record earlier this year.
The insider added: "The plan is to release internationally on iTunes as a complete surprise without any previous promotion or build-up publicity campaign.
"The shock tactics worked amazingly well for Beyonce and the feeling is Adele's new album is so widely anticipated it doesn't need a long promotional build-up."
The project is still being kept a closely-guarded secret, with no release date set for the album - which will be the follow-up to '21', which sold almost 30 million copies worldwide.

Liam Gallagher scared Kasabian

Liam Gallagher terrified Kasabian when he started play fighting with them during a helicopter flight.
The 'Eez-eh' hitmakers bonded with the rocker when they supported his band Oasis during their run of hometown gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park in 2009.
They got on so well that guitarist Serge Pizzorno and singer Tom Meighan were taken to Scotland for lunch in the helicopter with Liam but decided to be mischievousness.
Serge said: "On the way back, Tom and Liam started play-fighting, rocking the thing, screaming. I'm sitting there going 'Maaaate!' This ain't like the back of a car, man, we're f***ing miles in the air. This rain starts coming down and the captain goes, 'Right, we've gotta land because the weather's terrible.' Liam's like, 'We're not landing, man, just drive through it!' - in the end we had to land. We had to emergency land in this airport."
The stars then went back to their hotel and Serge and Tom were still starstruck after spending time with Liam.
Serge gushed to NME magazine: "Liam's such an amazing dude. He's funny and proper looks after us. Those gigs were unbelievable."

The Housemartins set reunion criteria

The Housemartins will reform if The Smiths get back together.
The 'Caravan of Love' hitmakers - who split in 1988 after five years together - famously had a pact never to reunite, but have now slightly relaxed their stance safe in the knowledge their strict criteria is unlikely to be met.
Former bassist Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, said: " We've changed it to, 'We'll only reform if The Smiths reform first and they won't reform until the royal family abdicates', so I think we're safe on that one."
Norman is now best known for his DJing but admits it has taken until now for his 13-year-old son Woody to be impressed by his work.
He said: "He's just beginning to realise now he's 13 that his dad does have a cool job."
And the 50-year-old star - who also has four-year-old daughter Nelly with wife Zoe Ball - is hopeful his son could one day follow in his musical footsteps.
He added in a radio interview: "He's just got a bass off his godfather, so obviously that's a tradition in the family I'd like to continue. Bass players traditionally are the most well grounded, intelligent members. And they get the best chicks. Always."

Kasabian don’t know much Metallica

Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno admits he doesn't know any of Metallica's music.
The 'Eez-eh' hitmakers will be headlining the Glastonbury festival alongside Arcade Fire and the legendary heavy metal band next week and they think the group are a "controversial" booking.
Serge said: "Metallica, they're massive. I'm being entirely honest with you, I don't really know their tunes but they're massive.
"They've been doing it for a long time, so they'll have a few tricks up their sleeves. It's been quite a controversial choice but I think that can also work in your favour. I've met Lars [Ulrich], the drummer. He came to a show of ours in San Francisco and was a lovely chap, so I wish him all the best."
However, the band - also made up of Tom Meighan, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews - have been checking out Arcade Fire and are a fan of their album 'Reflektor'.
Serge told NME magazine: "I've only seen little bits of pictures and stuff but they seem like their live show is interesting. They seem like a great band for a Friday night."

Cheryl Cole names new album Only Human

Cheryl Cole's new album will be called 'Only Human'.
The 30-year-old pop star, who recently unveiled 'Crazy Stupid Love' as the lead single from her fourth studio album, has confirmed her new record's title and a November release date.
Cheryl says the title is a reminder to herself that she is a "normal" person following a crazy two years which saw her release her third album 'A Million Lights', perform a nationwide arena tour, reunite with Girls Aloud for a greatest hits tour and announce her return to TV talent show, 'The X Factor'.
Appearing on 'The Graham Norton Show' - which airs on BBC One tonight (20.06.14) - she explained: "I was exhausted, I'd had a solo tour and then toured with Girls Aloud so I took a year off to be with my family. It was the first time off I'd had in 10 years - it was a normal time."
Cheryl is set for another busy year as she has just begun filming auditions for the new series of 'X Factor' and will release 'Crazy Stupid Love' next month. In addition to her musical and TV endeavours, the starlet will also have her own fragrance in shops this summer.
Previously talking about the months ahead, she said: "The perfume launch in August and the album launch in November. I'm so busy at the moment, I'm just taking things one day at a time."
