Mark Ronson ‘annoyed’ by X Factor cover of Uptown Funk

Mark Ronson was "annoyed" his song 'Uptown Funk' was performed on 'The X Factor'.
The DJ had intended to unveil the song - which also features Bruno Mars - in January but was forced to hasten its release date after discovering that the ITV reality TV show contestant Fleur East intended to release it as a single, too.
The 39-year-old star told NME magazine: "I realised this girl's cover's going to come out before our own.
"So yeah, for a minute I was a little bit annoyed and then we kind of rushed ours, which is good 'cause I think whatever it took to get the song out."
Mark's record is among the contenders for the coveted Christmas number one spot in the UK singles chart, not far behind behind 'X Factor' winner Ben Haenow's debut single.
And Mark has joked that he would feel a little bit guilty were he to steal the thunder of the reality TV show winner.
He said: "I almost feel guilty, maybe we can do a remix with a few Christmas words in there in time."
Meanwhile, Fleur's performance of the tune drew praise from music mogul Simon Cowell, who described it as one of the best things he'd ever heard on the show.

Gerard Way’s album features ‘old soul music’

Gerard Way's new album will feature "old soul music."
The 37-year-old musician has suggested he will shy away from the Britpop-inspired sound of his debut solo album 'Hesitant Album' - released earlier this year - in favour of embracing the sound of his track 'Get The Gang Together'.
He explained: "[I have] changed things up again. The stuff I've been writing recently feels a lot more akin to songs like 'Get The Gang Together' - it feels like it's moving in a garage-y, old soul music kind of direction."
Continuing to speak about the record - which he plans to record in September 2015 - he hinted guitars may not be as prominent as they have been in his previous music, because he wants to have brass instruments on the tracks.
He told NME magazine: "I want to use horns, backing vocals, things like that. Even though I do the majority of my writing on the guitar, I don't know how prominent it's gonna be. So it's moving in a different direction, for sure."
The star rose to fame as the frontman of My Chemical Romance but split from his 'Teenagers' bandmates in March 2013 after releasing four studio albums, and admits he misses the extravagance of the group's stage shows.
Speaking of his live shows, he said: "I definitely miss the theatricality of it a little bit.
"Now that I've gotten not doing something theatrical out of my system, I feel like it would be nice to get back into concepts again, maybe explore some more visual stuff."

Olly Murs makes Jessie Ware gaffe

Olly Murs thanked Jessie Ware for appearing on his album, despite her not being involved in the record.
The 30-year-old singer admitted the pair met while recording the Band Aid 30 single 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' and led to the most embarrassing moment of his year because he falsely believed she had sung on a track from his album 'Never Been Better'.
He revealed: "OK so cringe worthy moment, you know what, this is really bad. I was at the recording for Band Aid 30 and I met Jessie Ware. I thought that she was on my album because there was a song that I did called 'Alone Tonight' and the guys that were producing it wanted her to sing on the song because she's got a really great voice. I got it completely wrong; it's not Jessie Ware at all!"
However, the 'Wrapped Up' hitmaker revealed it wasn't the most awkward encounter which the 'Tough Love' singer had that day, after Jessie was mistaken for 'Bang Bang' singer Jessie J by Sinead O'Connor.
He added: "But then, to add to the awkwardness, Sinead O'Connor went up to Jessie and went, 'Oh my god, Jessie J, it's so lovely to meet you.' "

Madonna’s new album leaks online

Madonna's new album has leaked online before even being announced.
The pop legend has been recording music for her 13th studio album for the past year but an unfinished version of the LP has now surfaced online with the tentative title, 'Iconic'.
The 56-year-old had not yet confirmed the album, but it was widely speculated the collection would be released next year when she is reported to be heading out on a world tour to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of her ground-breaking 'Like a Virgin' concert series.
The already leaked tune 'Rebel Heart', produced by Avicii, features on the 13-track LP, alongside previously confirmed songs 'Bitch I'm Madonna', 'Joan of Arc' and 'Make the Devil Pray'.
Other tracks on the surfaced record include Nicki Minaj collaboration 'Unapologetic Bitch' and a second song with Avicii titled 'Wash All Over Me'.
Elsewhere in the collection there are tracks titled 'Addicted (The One That Got Away)', 'Borrowed Time', 'Heartbreak City', 'Illuminati', 'Living For Love (Carry On)', 'Messiah', and 'Revolution'.
The security breach is not the first time music from the 'Hung Up' hitmaker has prematurely appeared online, as 'Rebel Heart' was leaked last month prompting her manager Guy Oseary to put out a plea for information about who released the track.
Posting on Twitter, he wrote: "I would be grateful to any @madonna fans that can assist us in finding those responsible for the leak. We appreciate your help... (sic)"
After discovering her privacy had been compromised with the release of 'Rebel Heart', the mother-of-four posted an image of a smashed MP3 player on her Instagram account alongside a furious comment in which she said the leak has caused her to have a "broken heart."
She wrote: "This broken ipod is a symbol of my broken heart! That my music has been stolen and leaked! I have been violated as a human and an artist! #f**kedupshit (sic)"
Earlier this year, OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder announced he has been working with the hitmaker on the follow-up to 2012's 'MDNA', describing the music as "her best stuff in more than a decade".

Records from Bob Dylan, Sex Pistols and Lou Reed are among those inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The 'Like a Rolling Stone' singer's iconic 1975 LP 'Blood on the Tracks' is one of 27 recordings deemed to have sufficient "qualitative or historical importance" to be a new inductee into the Recording Academy's hall, which aims to continue "the tradition of preserving and celebrating timeless recordings".
Sex Pistols' seminal 'Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols' album and Lou's 1972 single 'Walk on the Wild Side' also earned places in the hall, as did Chic's 1978 hit 'Le Freak', Neil Young's 1972 album 'Harvest', and ABBA's Dancing Queen' from 1978.

President and CEO of The Recording Academy, Neil Portnow, said of the collection: "With recordings dating as early as 1909 through the late '80s, this year's Grammy Hall Of Fame entries not only represent a diverse collection of influential and historically significant recordings but also reflect the changing climate of music through the decades.

Kasabian set their sights on Wembley gig

Kasabian's ambition is to headline a gig at Wembley Stadium in London.
The rock band, who formed in 1997 and includes Tom Meighan, Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews, played at Glastonbury earlier this year and they now have their sights set on playing at major outdoor stadiums.
Sergio said: "In a stadium, half the people aren't really in the mix because they're sitting down.
"I suppose there's some weird Britpop hangover ingrained in my soul that strives to make outsider music and take it to Wembley."
Speaking to NME, he added that the band are "ready" for the challenge of playing a such big venues, having grown their fanbase over time.
Sergio reflected: "We are ready for Wembley. In fact, that's the next step: Wembley and Murrayfield, and then beyond. It's stadium time. It has to be."
This comes shortly after the band's frontman Tom Meighan said that they "deserve" their success.
He remarked: "Glastonbury was unbelievable, because we deserved that. We're proud pioneers.
"We deserve everything we f***ing get.
"We've worked so hard, me and my best friend [guitarist Serge Pizzorno] here, since we were f***ing babies, when we were 17 and we gave our lives to rock 'n' roll. Not many people can say that can they?"

Green Day to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Green Day, Ringo Starr and Lou Reed are among the artists who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.
The 'Basket Case' hitmakers will be enshrined at the 30th annual induction ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall in Ohio on April 18, 2015 and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, 42, admitted he "had to go for a walk" when he first heard the news.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: "We're in incredible company and I'm still trying to make sense of this. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has always held something special for me because my heroes were in there. This is a great time for us to sort of reflect and look back with gratitude."
The hall also announced on Tuesday (16.12.14) that it will also honour Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and 'Ain't No Sunshine' hitmaker Bill Withers, who hasn't released new music in nearly three decades.
The late poet of the New York underground Lou Reed, who died in October 2013 due to complications from a liver transplant, is already in the hall as a member of the Velvet Underground, but will be inducted again.
Other posthumous inductees will include Blues guitarist Paul Butterfield, who died from an accidental overdose in 1987, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, who died in a helicopter crash in 1990.
Meanwhile, drummer Ringo will be the fourth former Beatle enshrined as an individual and will receive a special award for musical excellence.
The former gospel group "5" Royals will also be inducted in the early influence category.
The inductees were chosen by a vote of more than 700 artists, historians and music industry representatives.
Artists only become eligible 25 years after the release of their first album or single.
Public tickets to the event go on sale Thursday (18.12.14) and the hall will open a new exhibit dedicated to the 2015 inductees.

The Who postpone tour

The Who have postponed the final shows of their 'Who Hits 50' UK tour because Roger Daltrey has a throat infection.
The legendary British group, who were due to perform two sell out concerts at The O2 Arena in London this week, have announced they've rescheduled the dates for next year after the 70-year-old rocker was "ordered to rest his voice."
A spokesperson for the group said: "On medical advice singer Roger Daltrey has been ordered to rest his voice due to a throat infection. The band and their management wish to sincerely apologise to all ticket holders for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused."
The group's December 17 concert has been moved to March 22, 2015, while their December 18 date has been moved to March 23, 2015.
All original tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates.
The rockers released 'Be Lucky' - their first new song in eight years - earlier this year, and Roger recently confirmed they're working on new material.
He said: "It's 50 years on and we have passed the audition. We've done one song and we are going to do a whole album. It's exciting."
The London-born singer, who founded the iconic group, also admitted being in the band is very different these days.
He said: "It's not as rock and roll, it could never be as rock and roll because we are older.
"There's drugs but they are just different - it's now all Imodium and those types."
