Royal Blood would never add another member

Royal Blood would never add another band member.
The rock duo - featuring singer and bassist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher - have insisted they have no desire to change their unconventional band set-up to add a guitarist or other musicians because it would mean they'd lose their on-stage chemistry.
Mike said: "What have guitarists ever done for us?
"We didn't want anyone else in the band.
"There was no one else that would really fit in. We could play these same songs we have with more members, and it would be a similar band, but you'd miss out on some of the ways we connect, our chemistry."
The 25-year-old musician continued to say he create the band in a way which meant it would be possible for it to only have two members, because he knew band life "isn't easy" so wanted to keep on making music only with his friend, Ben.
Speaking to Mojo magazine, he added: "The way I managed to engineer the sound was a free pass for it to be just me and Ben. Being in a band isn't easy. You can't build it on distortion sound alone."
The pair are now working on their second album having released their eponymous debut chart-topping record last August, but insist it will be a while before it is released because it is nowhere near being complete.
When asked how far along the album is, Mike recently said: "It's hard to say. No song just gets written and completed in one session. Things start emerging out of the ground and we have to prune things and find the fruits among the forest."

Liam Gallagher recording solo album

Liam Gallagher is recording a solo album.
The rocker as been busy laying down songs in secret for the project since disbanding his band Beady Eye last October.
The former Oasis singer - who was joined in the super-group by his brother Noel before the guitarist quit in 2009 - has recruited a backing band and various musicians for the sessions and he is hoping to have enough new material ready to preview at some of upcoming festivals.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Liam is eyeing up summer festival slots so he can preview some of his new stuff.
"Though he knows his songwriting isn't as consistent as Noel's, he's also well aware that his name carries a lot of clout in the music industry. His solo record would be one of the most highly-anticipated releases in British rock."
Although Noel was responsible for writing the majority of Oasis' hits, Liam did contribute many notable tracks to the band's albums and two hit singles, 'Songbird' and 'I'm Outta Time'.
Noel, 47, recently admitted he wanted Liam to release a solo LP because he thinks his 42-year-old sibling still has a lot to offer in the music business.
The guitarist said: "I'm amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won't stay out of the limelight for long. I think Liam should make a solo record - put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it ... I'm very f***ing sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work."
It seems the warring brothers have managed to put their feud behind them as Liam posted a photo of himself at the weekend with an Access All Areas pass for one of Noel's High Flying Birds concerts accompanied by the caption "keeping in the family".

Brandon Flowers’ ‘love-hate relationship’ with Las Vegas

Brandon Flowers has a "love-hate relationship" with Las Vegas.
The frontman of The Killers spent a lot of time in the town as a youngster and has admitted one of the songs off his 2010 solo album 'Flamingo', titled 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas', shows his feelings towards the place.
He said: "I have a love-hate relationship with this town. And it came out.
"Usually I'm the ambassador for this place, but in this song I showed another side. I was sick of people handing out cards for hookers on the Strip, and had the idea to use that iconic sign and slogan and turn it on its head a little bit."
The 33-year-old singer also revealed he had a secret "older persona" as a young boy, loving to listen to Frank Sinatra and play golf.
He added to Billboard magazine: "We always talk about how we bring a little bit of Vegas wherever we go. I grew up with people like Wayne [Newton] on billboards.
"You go to the 7-Eleven and there's a line of slot machines with a Rat Pack picture. I didn't realise how much it was engrained in me.
"When I was a kid, I listened to Depeche Mode and New Order, but when I went home I would put on Frank Sinatra's Main Event. And I played golf. I secretly had this older persona for myself of, like, driving an Eldorado, smoking cigars and listening to Sinatra."

Kanye West to headline at Glastonbury

Kanye West is to headline at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
The 37-year-old rapper took to his Twitter account today (16.03.15) to announce he will be performing on the Pyramid stage at the annual event on June 27.
He tweeted: "EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE IM HEADLINING PYRAMID STAGE SATURDAY NIGHT @GLASTOFEST THIS YEAR (sic)."
Emily Eavis, who runs the extravaganza with her father Michael, said she was "thrilled" to have the 'Bound 2' hitmaker on board.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed last month that the Foo Fighters, who last performed at the event in 1998, will rock the stage on the Friday night of the festival after the organisers spent several years trying to persuade the US band to come back.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz in February, Emily said: "It's amazing. It's been a long time coming they haven't been since 1998. We've got them back, we're really excited about it.
"They are the ultimate live band and I think they will get the whole thing moving."
She added: "The thing has been timing. With their Wembley shows this year it means they're going to be here, and they're just really up for it. Timing wise it's perfect and we were so thrilled they said yes. They're doing the Friday night."
Meanwhile, Emily previously admitted she would love to sign Adele for the festival in Somerset, south west England but has poured cold water on rumours the 'Rolling in the Deep' hitmaker will also perform this year.
She said: "That's not true. That's the only denial I will do. I would love Adele. To have Adele would be a complete dream, but she's not going to be here this year."
The 26-year-old singer previously insisted she "will not do festivals."
The event is set to take place from June 24 to 28 and more headliners will be announced on April 1.

Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly released ahead of schedule

Kendrick Lamar's new album has been released a week ahead of schedule.
The 27-year-old rapper had intended to unveil his third full-length album - 'To Pimp a Butterfly' - on March 23, but it appears to have been leaked early, against his wishes.
Kendrick tweeted last night (15.03.15): "Keep calm. All is well."
The platinum-selling star then tweeted the album's name and a link to iTunes, where fans can buy it online.
By contrast, Anthony Tiffith, CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment - which represents the rapper - was noticeably less philosophical about the album's early release, taking to Twitter to vent his frustration against the Interscope record label.
He said, sarcastically: "I would like to personally thank @Interscope for f***ing up our release... somebody gots 2 pay 4 this mistake !!!! (sic)"
The 16-track new album features performances from George Clinton, Thundercat, Bilal, Anna Wise and Snoop Dogg, among others.
And the much-anticipated release has already prompted an enthusiastic response from pop star Taylor Swift, who's joked she doesn't want to be disturbed while she listens to it.
She tweeted: "Kendrick put his album out early.
"No one touch me."
The artwork of the album, which is the follow-up to Kendrick's 2012 release 'Good kid, MAAD City', depicts the aftermath of a black revolution on the White House lawn and was unveiled last week.
Kendrick's first UK performance where he will debut his new album will be at New Look Wireless on Saturday July 4.
Tickets for New Look Wireless can be purchased online at WirelessFestival.co.uk.

Sam Smith ‘overwhelmed’ with double number one

Sam Smith was left "overwhelmed" after achieving a double number one yesterday (15.03.15).
The 22-year-old singer couldn't believe his luck when his song 'Lay Me Down' - which he recorded with John Legend for charity Comic Relief - topped the UK Singles chart, and he was equally as surprised to see his album 'In The Lonely Hour' return to the summit of the UK Album chart.
He tweeted: "I am in complete shock. A double number one!!!!
"Music is my therapy and I'm so overwhelmed mine can be yours. I'll never forget this moment x (sic)"
Sam's album returning to the number one spot meant he stopped Madonna from achieving her 12th number one with her record 'Rebel Heart', which had looked set to top the chart earlier in the week, but he was particularly pleased with his charity version of Lay Me Down's huge achievement after it managed sales of 105,000.
He wrote: "Thank you with all my heart for making 'Lay Me Down' number one!! Truly the most important song and number one I've ever had!!
"Massive shout out to comic relief, @johnlegend and @jimmynapes on making this possible!! Such an incredible cause!! Overwhelmed x (sic)"
Sam's album returning to number one was a particularly big achievement as it marked the sixth time the record has been number one, which is a record for a male solo artist.

Britney Spears’ Vegas residency inspired by Celine Dion

Britney Spears' Las Vegas residency was inspired by Celine Dion.
The 'Toxic' hitmaker has revealed she was keen to do a series of shows on the famous Strip after going backstage during Celine Dion's 2003 residency and becoming "jealous" of the stability the job offered.
She said: "I remember how beautiful it was - really cool, low-key - and [Celine's] dressing room was great.
"I was actually jealous, like, 'Oh, my gosh, she gets to be in one place all the time.' Everything clicked: To have your children and your family and that way of life, it just makes sense to have everything in one place."
Despite enjoying her Las Vegas residency, Britney has insisted it's not her "full priority" to record new music and instead wants to spend time with her sons Sean, nine, and Jayden, eight, who she has with her former husband Kevin Federline.
She told Billboard magazine: "I'm gonna do [a new album] slowly but surely.
"There's a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I'm gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it's not my full priority right now.
"Kids can drive you crazy."

‘Perfectionist’ Rita Ora

Rita Ora is a "perfectionist".
The 'I Will Never Let You Down' hitmaker has revealed she expects a lot of herself and often worries about what others expect of her too.
She said: "I expect a lot of myself. I'm a little perfectionist. If I worried about the expectations of others on top of that, I think I would probably go crazy."
And whilst she tries not to pay attention to what most people think, there is one special person she looks to for advice - her mother.
Despite trying to adopt her positivity, the 24-year-old singer insists she is just like a "normal" young lady, who suffers ups and downs, something which she tries to show in her use of social media.
She told the German edition of Glamour magazine: "Social media needs to be handled delicately. It's easy to forget just how many people are following you on there.
"You have to learn what to say and when to hold back. But that's just a part of me right now, sharing my life with others on a daily basis - it's part of my job."
Rita also revealed details of her new album, citing Gwen Stefani and Bob Marley as inspirations for the LP and hopes the album will show fans how she has matured.

Noel Gallagher gets chest infection on tour

Noel Gallagher has been performing with a chest infection on tour.
The musician is currently on his world tour to promote his new album 'Chasing Yesterday' but before his sell-out concert in Paris, France, last week he got ill with a cold which has got a lot worse.
However, rather than pull out of any gigs, Noel continued on the road and had antibiotics brought to him before his show in Milan, Italy, on Saturday night (14.03.15).
Bur rather than start taking the medication immediately, the renowned party lover decided to get drunk after he came off stage.
In a new blog post on his official website, entitled 'Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere Vol 3: The Good, The Bad And The Bubbly', Noel revealed: "Paris in the spring is quite frankly ... well just beautiful. LOVE that town. The sun was out. It was warm...all I'm missing is my girl. The gig was great too. Bit of a come down from all the razzmatazz of the big shows in the UK. Great crowd...some people actually flew in from The Lebanon especially for it, which was nice. Still got this bloody cold. It's starting to feel more like a chest infection now though. It's beginning to p**s me off. Good job Nancy is coming to Milan with some antibiotics...gotta clear this s**t up once and for all."
Discussing his post-Milan show celebration, he added: "Now I'm not sure what happened after that to be honest. I know I'm currently in Milan. Its been f***ing wonderful...it always is.
It's fair to say The Italians love me and long may that continue 'cause I love them right back...the beautiful bastards.
"The gig was amazing, the kind of gig you'd never want to end. Easily my favourite so far. I would go into greater detail but I'll freely admit I'm suffering with a raging hangover.
"Nancy did arrive with the medication but she was cracking foxy and we somehow managed to get roaring drunk instead. I guess the meds can wait until tomorrow eh? I'm f***ed...can't believe I now have to go and do some live Italian TV?! Keep it livid yeah? ONWARDS. (sic)"
Rumours had been rife that Noel's younger brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher was going to be at the Milan concert after the singer posted a photo of himself with an Access All Areas pass to a Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds show on his Twitter account on Saturday.
However, Noel, 47, made no mention of his 42-year-old sibling in his blog.
'In the Heat of the Moment' hitmaker Noel is due to perform at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin, Germany, tonight (16.03.15).
